    Unhappy Is this normal?

    Hi Everyone,

Just wondering if anyone else is experiencing the same as me, I have been freaking out lately about the baby being healthy at birth and have been having terrible nightmares that things willl go wrong after the birth.

I am finding the closer i get to the birth the worse the anxiety is and im excited but there is something holding me back form being 100% happy as i have this feeling something is going to go wrong or be wrong with bub's, i just don't remember feeling this way with DD.

Would like to know how everyone else is feeling!!

    Hi Shell,

I've been wondering how you were going - we haven't heard from you in the PAML thread for a while!!!!

I can't help you too much, other than to say that I'm sure what you're feeling is completely normal - it's amazing what some extra hormones and a little bit of anxiety can do to us. Personally, I really haven't been thinking too much about the birth just yet as it still freaks me out a bit!!

Hang in there honey and although its hard, try not to think about what could go wrong, instead try and focus on the positives. At the end of the day, you can't control what's going to happen, so please just try and let it all take its course and enjoy the last weeks of your pg (yeah right, like thats possible when we're getting so big and uncomfortable).

Take care honey and please come visit us in the PAML thread again soon.

Yes! I worried sick throughout DS pregnancy and after he was born!!! He was perfectly fine in the end. So my motto now is....Dont worry until you have reason to!
    Good luck

I was like that with my first baby
I think alot of it had to do with the fact that I miscarried before I had her so the normal anxiety that you have when preggo about baby's health and the birth etc were very much heightened.
I wouldn't take the tags off her clothes or properly set up her room before she was born because I'd get these horrible thoughts in my head about coming home from hospital empty handed an having to face a set up nursery full of baby clothes....my mother was madly washing clothes and pulling everything out of boxes while I was in hospital.
I have no advice really, but I think it's fairly normal. Once she was born I was fine, and I never felt like that when I was pregnant with DS (even though I miscarried before him as well...)

Lately I've been having weird dreams too - from being left alone after the birth as everyone fusses over the baby and forgets me to the exact opposite!

I think though that dreams are our subconcious working through stuff, and they do so in mysterious ways that don't always make sense to us (or can frighten!)

    Hi Shell!
Normal - yes, i think so. Im like you, didnt do it with my DD but with this one i cant help myself. Im not having the dreams though. My main problem is i have too much time on my hands (thinking way too much about anything!) When i feel myself starting to worry or think this way i just get up and do something different to take my mind off it. I think everyone worries about this sort of thing to some degree, esp with not being able to see the little bubs!
Dont worry too much - im sure your bubs is fine!

Its funny that 2 of you mentioned the birth mark, because that is also one of the things (apart from many others)im freaking out over and i also don't know why, Its comforting to know im not worrying on my own, thanks girls
