As of today i am 35 weeks pregnant and i think within the last 2 weeks i feel like ive gone through more changes than that of my whole pregnancy! I know its normal to have pains and aches due to stretching, but my inner thighs and my pelvic area; im not sure i can take anymore pain. I know its normal, but it hurts extremely bad when getting up from a sitting position or after laying down. To what extent is it really supposed to hurt? I also have alot of pressure there. Feels like the baby is bobbing and that she is going to fall out! I know realistically that is not going to happen, but it feels that way. Being a first time mom, im scared and worried about every little aspect of this whole pregnancy thing. I know they say extreme pressure and back ache.. call doctor! But sometimes i think that maybe this is normal and im over analyzing it? TMI, but I also have a fluid discharge that Im also worried about. Im almost positive that its NOT amniotic fluid, but what could it be then? Ive had discharge throughout my whole pregnancy, little here and there, but this is like (TMI again), but milk. Not sure if I should contact doctor or not. I dont remember reading that this is normal, but thats why i ask help of you guys
I have all those aches and pains... I've been told they're pretty normal. Its your body getting ready for things. Mines so bad that I need help to sit up in bed at night and have to get out of bed just to roll over! haha... Also, my midwives told me that if you have any questions, no matter what it is, call them and they'll help. I've taken advantage of that over the months and I'd rather be safe than sorry!
Definitely call your midwife/dr and go in for them to check you out. It sounds like it's all normal but you will feel better if you get some reassurance.
Then just concentrate on doing whatever it takes to make you feel comfy - take some baths, rest more, hot wheat bags, see a physio for some massage/stretching (sounds counter-intuitive but trust me it helps) and if it's really bothering you take some panadol. Be kind to your body, it's doing a great job!
I agree with the ladies above, personally I would call and just reassure myself that all is OK, it sounds like it but hey this is new to us all and it cannot hurt to ask!
Then I def recommend physio, I have a v bad back and I go for physio once a week, it doesnt feel like much at the time but the stretching 'creates room' inside which gives me some relief fromthe constant pain. I have also been avoiding panadol etc, but now take a panadol here and there to allow myself to get comfortable and rest. Heat helps me a lot - showers, baths and wheat bags.
Not long to go and you will have your bubba with you, it is a lot for your body to go through but you are close!
Hope thay helps and good luck!
Hi abellababy
The pain is caused by all your joints loosening in preparation for labour. For some women the pain can be almost as bad as a broken bone and is due to the ends of the joint in your pubic bone rubbing against each other. Try moving slowly and keeping your knees together. If it is unbearable you can try taking panadol or panadeine.
An increase in discharge is common late in pregnancy. If it is thicker than water then it is just your cervical mucous, if it like water then you should get it checked.
Thanks alot everyone for your help! Although the pain is sometimes unbearable, as long as its not something I need to worry about, I can and will deal with it. I might just make an appointment to see my mid wife so she can check everything out as far as the fluid. Just so im extra reassured
But thanks really for all of your help!
Its greatly appreciated.
I've had the same pain and have been going to a physio for about 3-4 weeks...it's really helped...
I got a pregnancy belt (stretchy elastic belt with velcro) from the physio. which has really helped just take some of the pressure off...
For the pain, use heat packs...also see if you can get someone to massage you (gently)...my physio. does quite a bit of massage on my butt as that has really tightened up with the pain...
Like Alan said...try to do things with knees together (like getting in and out of the car, getting out of bed) and used your arms more to lift you up...
I also had an increase in fluid...it's actually settled down a little now...
