I just got back from on hospital appointment. I had an internal to see how things were going down there. Anyway it is good news, -2 station engaged, nice and soft cervix that is 2-3cm dilated. She did note on my record, "os-sacral".
Does anyone know what this means, I forgot to ask her, and I can't find anyting on it on the net.

Os-sacral means that the opening in your cervix (os) is pointing towards the back (your sacrum). This is the normal position for it to be at this stage. A soft cervix that is 2-3 cm dilated is a good sign. Birth is not too far away.
I was starting to come to this conclusion but you saved me from going crazy. Thanks for your help. But I'm now confused by why she would say that the position of my cervix was mid/anterior, what do you think this would be? Is it possible to have a cervix that faces backwards but it's positon be towards the front?

The only thing I can think of is that your cervix is mid/anterior but pointing backwards and thus giving you a sacral os. Try to think of a balloon. With the balloon being your uterus and that part (tube) you blow up the balloon being your cervix. The hole in this tube through which the air passes would be your os. So the tube could be towards the front and pointing towards the back.

And that makes sense, because I remember when I was pregnant with Charlee the midwife who delivered her said that my cervix pointed the wrong way. I guess this is what she was referring to as well.
