    Ouch :( strong period pain

So for the last 36 hours I've been dosed up on panadol because this pain that feels a lot like period pain just won't go away. I got absolutely no sleep, and I've been losing more plug like stuff and the smallest streaks of blood in the mucuous. There isn't much though because I fully lost my plug 2-3 weeks ago and have been loosing little bits ever since (I guess as it gets replaced, it falls out?). I know she is 1/5 engaged, or at least she was 2 weeks ago (1/5 of the head above the brim). Am I just slowly dilating / effacing? Or is this normal? 33 weeks tomorrow. MW appt Saturday and I'll be 33+2 then. Ta.

I think you should go checked out especially if there is blood in the mucous just to rule out dilation/effacing. I think its too early for this to be happening now.

Definitely. Get yourself to the hospital. Better to be safe than sorry. They might be able to stop it. But the longer you leave it the riskier it is.

I agree - go and get checked out. At this stage it is better to get it checked out and have it be nothing at all, than not to, in my opinion.

Agreed - blood stained mucus, especially fresh stuff, can be a sign your cervix is making a move.

I had very strong period pain and light contractions at 31 weeks and it turned out I was 3cm dilated and had to be on bed rest.

I agree with the others - definitely go and check it out. Much better to be safe than sorry.

I don't know much about the services in your area, but have you spoken over the phone with a MW regarding these pains you're having? My MW's are very cautious and IMO trust the mothers instincts'. I've always received top quality care and service through our public system in WA.
I'm sure you've probably exhausted those options, but I just need to ask.

If I was YOU i'd push for an emergency scan or appt, or i'd go into ED and tell them that I have a suspected PROM (you might not have, but let them tell you that). Let the care providors know that you've had a baby before (so you know what to expect), and as early as it is before your EDD, you KNOW something is up birth-wise.
It might not be, but if THEY think YOU think something is up then they'd want to start monitoring you.

Sorry, i'm a bit scattered this arvo (like all others ATM!) and will most likely need to edit this post later, but it was a post I couldn't not reply too. Keep the faith that their is a plan for you, and one in which you will all smile for all eternity.

I've been in that midst of uncertainty, and as frightening as it was, i've made it through to the other side.
    xx

Her advice was to drink lots of water and go for a walk and see how that changes things. I know this doesn't feel like labour, it just feels like she is hanging low and stretching my cervix just that bit more. I will ask for a VE saturday to see if my body intuition is correct. Thanks for the love I am away tonight so if you don't hear from me don't worry!
