Yay, I feel more positive today!! When I woke up and went to the toilet I discovered I think I'm losing my plug!!
Is this it? It was just like HEAPS of ewcm that just kept coming out, clear and like stringy/stretchy/globby. Sorry for the TMI!! lol. There was no blood or anything though????
Sounds like your plug to me SJ! Mine wasn't bloody at first either. Your body is up to something today ;)
YAY SJ! Definately sounds like your plug  I lost some of mine 2 days before I went into labour, so good luck :D
Woot thats great SJ! Time to give this baby their eviction notice! I still think you will have a Feb baby :).
Woohoo! Sorry to be gross, but if it looks like snot of any form, then its probably your plug!
Come out bubby!!
lol amber it's lovely isn't it.
Well I definately think it's it because it's still coming out! It's never ending, lol.
At least this means my cervix is doing something good right?
Yay honey, your cervix is opening a little and softening up...:dance:
It doesn't have to be bloody, but probably will as you get closer...
I'm so excited for you!!!:D
Yep, your cervix is dilating. Once the cervix starts to open, the plug falls out because the cervix is now too big for it to...plug
Which is all very cool!
Yay!! And my m/w is going to do a S&S on Monday if nothing has happened by then so good to know my cervix is hopefully open a bit so I'm guessing that will be easier to do!
I was worried that nothing was happening down there because bubs STILL isn't fully engaged :( So I thought it might not have been putting enough pressure down there to make anything happen.
Woohoo, SJ! Movement at the station! Natty didn't engage until a couple of days before labour, and even then I didn't really notice. So who knows? Maybe your bub has engaged but you haven't realised yet? In any case, there's something goin' on down there
How was your cake? ;)
I didn't even get to the cake, my book was too good yesterday so I read like all day! lol. But I finished it. Am going to make the cake today, really feel like chocolate cake but I have 2 over ripe bananas so it might be a banana cake for me!
 How did I not see this thread!
Oh hun its so hard not to worry! Sounds like it is your plug how exciting!
You will do the best job you can! Rememeber how perfectly tuned you are to birthing! Enjoy this experience and looking forward to your BA!
Sending you lots of labour vibes! xxx
Just make sure that you turn the oven off before you leave the house if the cake is still baking when you need to go ;)
You know Heaven, you can do a check on your own cervix if you think you can manage to get in to some sort of position to attempt it. ;) Make sure your fingers are clean to start. Gently insert a finger, and feel towards the back of the vagina. Baby's head should be easy to feel - hard, smooth, and round. And then you might be able to find your cervix. (Sometimes it stays well back until labour starts, but sometimes it moves forward a little earlier.) The cervix will be like a squishy donut shaped lump. It may be a "tall" lump, or flatter, and it may have a dip in the middle. The dip is where you may be dilating. If you can fit a fingertip in, that's about 1cm dilated. Two fingertips is 2cm, roughly. You can also see how it feels - firm, or soft. I think firm is something like your nose, whereas soft is more like relaxed lips. (feel free to correct and clarify anyone. :) ) The cervix will become soft as it prepares for letting that baby out. It will also get flatter as it begins to efface.
Don't expect to be able to tell for sure what is going on, especially after your first check. If you are curious about what your body might be doing, you can do a number checks over a couple of days, and observe any changes. And, even if you feel like you can't make heads or tails out of what might be happening in there, any stimulation of the cervix releases oxytocin, which helps to trigger contractions.
All the best for getting that little bean out soon! Hope your labour goes beautifully.
lol ali!
Cricket- thanks for that info. I have tried to feel my cervix because I've been using EPO and wanted to know if I was getting it anywhere near it. But I couldn't reach it!! My belly is too big and I can't get anywhere near it, lol.
Ouch, lots of cramps today.
I don't think you're going to make to the S&S Heaven - all the best
whats epo?
