    Pain all over

I know I posted bout my hip in here earlier in the week.

I'm now struggling to walk because of the swelling I have in my feet. I've been recommended TEDs stockings, and soaking them.
But, starting today, whenever I bend my feet backwards or my hands backwards or forwards, it feels like the skin on the back of my hands and feet are stretching a helluva lot and it's hurting.

My hip pain has gotten worse (I've still got 4 weeks of work ahead of me) too, to the point that even turning over in bed causes me pain.. So much so that when I got out of bed at 4:40am this morning, went to the loo and got back into bed (with ALOT of pain) I just started crying and DH woke up and gave me a hug. Even sitting on the end of the bed hurts (sometimes its more comfortable to walk around that to sit down because of the hip pain)

DH wants me to have a warm-ish salt bath before work tonight (to which he said he'd help me get out of the bath when I'm done) but besides that, I don't know what the heck I'm supposed to do without feeling so sore.
Right now, I can't do chiro and physio, but I do have my OB appt on the 29th so I'm gonna see if there's any way he could refer me to the hospital physio so I don't have to pay anything.

Any other ideas? Especially the swelling

Oh hun... I'm so sorry to hear you're in pain.

I know the chiro helped me enormously at 28-ish weeks and my lower back and pelvic pain has not returned, but I notice you said that wasn't an option. Hope you find something that brings you relief soon. I talk to the hospital physios at my aqua class as well. You could try calling the hospital physio dept and asking them?

    Thanks Jennifer
Only reason why it's not an option atm is because of the amount of bills we cop in Dec and they've just started coming in and I've only got the money to pay for those right now.
Yeah, I might get the physio department phone number and give them a call, I can't keep being in so much pain

Hey DD have you thought about getting a dr's certificate from your ob to give to work in hope that would make them make things easier for you? Surely something could be done then??

Sorry have no actual help for you in this thread!

    Thats ok BB

I have thought about it, and I dunno what good it'd do because of me being a contractor. I think I will get one anyway though because it might be a good thing for my boss to hold onto and refer to.

I remember that swelling, i got it often, all i can say is feet up, feet up, feet up!! Its when you have been on them all day and had them dangling down too long (sitting on chairs) that it gets bad, so try laying down and/or putting them up. Also try changing your shoes to more loose fitting ones if you can, thongs/slip on sandal type things are best. That said though, you must be careful, if its come on suddenly, keep a close eye on it, definitely mention it to ur ob next visit and get checked earlier if you have any other symptoms like headaches, spots in front of eyes etc. as it can be the start of pre eclampsia.

With your hip, have you tried sleeping with a pillow between your knees? Also a brace might help. Dont put up with the pain, definitely get in to see the physio soon.

Hope you get some relief soon.

    Thanks kristi

Yeah, it did come along pretty sudden. In the hands anyway. My feet have just gradually been worse throughout the last couple of days.
I am getting constant headaches but I'm putting that down to lack of sleep (cause I work at night)

I've got a long body pillow which I sleep with, but for the pat two days its done jack all for me.

Definately keep you legs elevated as much as possible. Usually, with fluid retention, part of the treatment is fluid restriction but certainly not applicable during pregnancy so I really don't know what to suggest. Are you going to get the TEDS?

I all sounds very difficult at the moment for you DD Big BIG 's

i know it's no consolation but i have no idea how you manage with your work - the timing of it & the physical side.

please keep an eye on those headaches & swelling though hun - the combination of the two is definitely worth watching.

can your DH help massage the swelling in your feet & legs upwards (does that make sense?)? you know - long strokes up your legs towards your heart. and keep them elevated when possible. and def the hospital physio with any luck. i found an osteo fantastic when i was PG last time - could you ask for vouchers as an early xmas present from anyone?

hope the salt bath brings some temp relief tonight

I think my grandmother has brand new TEDS, and she hasn't used them yet cause they're too small for her, so I might see if they'll be the right size for me.
It is very difficult for me, but atm I'm just getting through it. Thanks for the hugs though delphmoon

lol Sarah, I have no idea how I do it either. I ended up giving away one of my shifts (last night) because I couldn't handle it (It would have been the 5th night in a row of work) and really wanna give tonight a miss with the hip pain, but we need the cash right now.
My MIL said to me on FB today that if it comes to it, then they'll help us financially where possible if I do need to stop work now, which is wonderful, but I would feel bad.
I was thinking bout asking my dad for money for christmas instead of a gift so I can go to a chiro or something

She's been kinda quiet today too, not worrying too much bout that cause I have already had a day where she was like that, but gonna keep an eye out on that too
