Pain - what could it be???

    Hi all

I am sure my stressing is unwarranted but you know how it is!!!

I have been getting some pains across my entire stomach area (the pain is continual) but they are different to the normal tweaks and twinges I have been getting. I dont think they are BHs as my stomach is not tightening and they dont feel llike the normal stretching pains I have been getting. They kind of feel like period pains and although they are not making me double over or anything I can definitely feel them and am starting to worry. I also dont think I have been getting as much movement as normal although I am still getting some. What could this be?

    TIA
    Jem

From an inexperienced first time mums perspective I can only think of braxton hicks. I do feel tightening and sort of like Im winded- but we could all describe them differently I assume?

Try not to worry but I would suggest calling your midwife or Dr for reassurance. I was told to ring the midwives at hospital over any concern and they have reassured me in the past. Its better than worrying. for me until I spoke to someone qualified I didnt stop worrying.

Jem, I would tell your OB about it and try get to checked out when you next can. After what I just went through, I have learnt to trust my odd feelings, and if you think something might be up or about to come down, I'd get it seen too now rather than later. Maybe it could be caused from your body getting ready to push out a baby, since bubs has already engaged so much, and maybe it's worth having your bags packed until you get a chance to have it seen to, just incase I don't mean to worry you at all, hopefully things are awhile off yet, but you just never know what to expect. Well it's what I have come to believe anyway.
How exciting and scarey at the same time is it that everything is so close for us all. Take care.

Apparently in about 7 months I will be a qualified midwife - yikes!

Jem, I agree with Mel hun, maybe give your Ob a call and have a chat.

I was having some very different pains last night, really down low and it would be there for a minute or so, then go for a min, then back and so on, having said that I have not had any today though.

    Hope everything is fine hun.

I'm getting the exact same symptoms as you at the moment. Pains all over belly and bubs not moving much. I'm interested to hear what your OB says...I will be talking to mine on Thurs at my next apt. Good luck

    Thanks for everyones replies.

I ended up calling the Ob and she said to go to hospital for a trace on the babys movement and heart rate.

At the hospital after an issue with a machine not working and not picking up any movement which freaked me out I eventually got hooked up to a machine that was working and they got a great trace on the heartrate and movement which was such a sense of relief.

As far as the pain goes the ob wasnt too concerned about it so I guess I will discuss it with her again when I have my appt next week.

I felt kind of paranoid ringing the ob but I am so glad I didas I know I would stillbe sitting her worrying about it.

    Thanks again
    Jem
