    Pain when walking

Today I went for my normal walk - about 8klm and about 1 klm of my walk it feels like that baby is grabbing onto my hip bone it's agony! I feel like a crippled old woman! But it does go away then I'm fine.

I'm sure it's not the baby grabbing my hip bone but what do u think it could be????

Is it kind of like a seriously bad stitch in an odd place? Front back or side of hip bone? I've had this most of the way through my pg. My Physio said my pelvis is out of line due to ligaments stretching etc.

This is not going to help at ALL but I am just so impressed that you walk 8km at 30 weeks pg! OMG hun you are amazing!

Anyway, sounds like a cramp or stitch. Are you eating enough bananas? I get terrible leg cramps when my potassium is low, so maybe have a banana before your walk. Not sure what else it could be besides round-ligament pain, or just general pullying and stretching from bub.

Good luck babe, I hope it doesn't impede your exercise too much,

8 KM! I find that a waddle up to the shops and back (around 1 KM return) gives me grief. You are doing very well.

I find if I push my limits to hard I get stitch like pains. I just put it down to the fact that my body is carrying so much extra weight as well as a moving bubs who likes to kick my ligaments.

Thanks Girls, I like to walk it atleast 3 -4 times a week, I was running it till about 23 weeks but then got too uncomfy.

Lissy - thats exactly what it feels like a stitch!!! must be just my hip aligning itself while I'm walking.

    thanks for your help

Maybe instead of going for such long walks in one hit, break it up and take a few more slightly smaller walks?? It sounds like ligament pain. Do you have anything you can wear to help support the weight of your belly while walking?? I get bad ligament pain (and severe hip and pelvis pain) the further along I get in my pregnancy, I have to wear a support belt for my hips and pelvis anyway, but I find it does significantly help ease the ligament pain (even if the other pain still persists). You can get pregnancy support belts from the chemist, or even just some of those tight banding tubes for some additional support.
