Quick Question...Anyone???

Hey,

Just a quick question.. does a babys heart rate get faster or slower towards the end..???

I had my 39 week check up today... and from last week bubs heart rate has gone from !31bpm to 146. Every other visit it has gotten lower an now all of a sudden its if faster than what it has been. should i be worried ?? or does this mean that bub wony be far away??

any advice would be great.

Riley's was about that at the end (well 37 weeks) but I don't know if it changes closer to birth.

i am sure one of my Belly Buddies said her babys heart beat had slowed down, and the doctor told her that was normal, meant it was fully matured or something.
Actually Tammy, you are due the same time as us, if you want, scoot into the Belly Buddies June 15 - 30th section and have a quick look.

The heart range will change depending on what the baby is doing at the time - ie sleeping, kicking etc. It doesnt get slower or faster towards the end of the pregnancy. As long as the heart beat is over 120 then the doctors are happy.
Even during early labour (4cm dilated) ashleys heart rate would jump from 118 to 156 within a few seconds depending on what she was up to in there!.
Nothing to be worried about.

I really wasnt sure what was going on as bub has slowed down with kicking an all that. so i wasnt overly sure.
