    Question Prelabour or something else?

I woke up at around 2:30 this morning & when I tried to turn over got really sharp pains all over my stomach which lasted about 2 hours. I felt like I had to go to the bathroom but when i tried (about 3 times) and couldn't (but since have quite bit) so I got back into bed & tried to sleep. Then I started getting what I assume is BH (I haven't really felt many at all until this morning) and they were quite painful and were happening every 3 or 4 minutes for a couple of hours. At about 6 it all stopped so I tried to go to sleep to no avail! Its now almost 8 & I'm starting to feel the BH again. I have to go to the hospital this morning to get my 36w bloods taken and am just tossing up whether or not I should talk to the midwives while I'm there so thought I'd get some other opinions considering I have no idea! I wouldn't bother going & seeing them but the pain I was in when I first woke up has me a little concerned...

    Hi Nella

BH usually aren't painful so I think it is worth just asking your midwifes. It sound like it might be pre-labour and your body is just preparing to birth. I think for some woman pre-labour can come and go over a number of weeks.

    Good luck.

Thanks Spring & Kelly. I might call the hospital before I go get my bloods done and see what they think.
