    Question Question?

Last night I woke up and rolled over in bed, only to find that it was nowhere near as awkward as it has been of recent weeks. Even getting up out of bed to go to the loo was easier. It was really odd - like the extra weight in my stomach had gone down - and after a little while I started worrying about why it could be. I couldn't get back to sleep, and was waiting to feel bub move to make sure he was okay. He's not very active during the night, but luckily, after a little bit he did a few big movements, so I knew he was doing okay.
Has anyone else experienced this? It was so strange, cause usually I feel so heavy in the belly and it's so awkward to move in bed. Do you think it just means bub has changed positions?

Sounds like bub has moved down, maybe getting closer to being engaged?

I agree with MrsMac.. I remember when ds started to move down and engage, it almost felt like my centre of gravity had changed... the main wieght in my body had shifted, so my balance had changed, if thhat makes sense? It was a very odd feeling.

    HI,
I have noticed the same thing. except last night I had some massive cramping in the very lower region and back pain. but it was still easy to roll around in bed and also to get outa bed!!! I think its just bubby getting closer to fully engaging.

That's great if that is what's happening - hopefully it means bub is actually head down now too (he was breech at my last appointment). I'll find out tomorrow at my check-up.

Another question, which could or could not be related... twice over the past couple of days, bub has done this really odd spasm-like movement. Never felt anything like it before - the closest thing to it I can think of is when you yawn and your whole body involuntarily spasms - that's what I imagine bub doing when I feel it, if that makes any sense.

    Hi Sterla,
Bubby may have had hiccups too. You know sometimes when you do like a double one? Or maybe he knows you are getting more anxious as D-Day draws near and is doing it on purpose!!!! Either way, don't stress too much

Yeah, maybe a double-hiccup, . Ah, these bubs never cease to amaze me. I haven't been worried about the spasm movement - it's only happened twice, and I still feel more normal movements, so I figure bub is fine.

After a few days of absolute agony and barely being able to move at all... the one thing I did notice upon leaping out of bed at 4am was that it was suddenly easier to move... very easy to move, and no pain. I'm sure it's related to the bubs moving down, as it didn't happen to me until my waters broke...

As for the spasm-type movements - they start to make a whole lot more sense when your baby is born and you see the type of movements they make.
