35 weeks... low albimun and period pains??? What the??

Hey all!

I am 35 weeks today, I had an antinatal appointment on tuesday and had bloods taken due to a headache and some mild swelling in my legs. The test showed low albimun and I have been told i need to go back on friday.

Since tuesday tho my headache is worse and wont go away, I have been getting some low abdo pain like period pain on and off since last night.
I woke up at 3am this morning and I cant get back to sleep! so even tho I havent posted on BB since I concieved I am interested to know if anyone has any ideas about whats happening or what I should do!! Thanks Guys!!

Hi Tree

given your headache and your pains I would advise you to call the hospital and get checked out. I don't have any experience with low albimun levels so your symptoms could be related, but they could also be indicative of something else, or could be completely benign. Your midwife will be able to make the best call with regards to any necessary treatment. At 35 weeks bub would still be premature and possibly need a little help at birth so it's best not to ignore period type pain, especially if accompanied by a general feeling of unwellness.
