Raspberry Leaf tablets at 33 weeks?

Is it OK to start taking Raspberry Leaf Tea tablets at 33 weeks?

I know a lot of people start drinking the tea earlier but I have a really weak stomach and don't know if I can do that so I just bought tablets. They are 1500mg and the packet says take in third trimester but doesn't specify a week. Are the tablets too strong to take just yet?

Obviously I'm no expert but I did start taking them around that time or maybe a bit earlier, had been drinking the tea before that too. I just had a look though and my tablets are only 500mg. I just took one a day to start with and after a few weeks took two twice a day, that was what was recommended in the bottle.
Not sure if that will help at all, just sharing my experience. Good luck with the rest if your pregnancy

That should be a fine dosage but to be safe ring your local health food shop and chat to one of the naturopaths hun or the company on the vitamin bottle should have a number you can call

I have only been on the tea - since about 33 weeks also.
I don't know if i could swallow the tablets - but amazingly I like the taste of the tea!!!

I got mine from the local naturopath, and each tablet is 2g. She told me to take two each day during the third trimester, but I was a little wary about starting a dose that high for two long. In any case I didn't get them until week 37 so I was late anyway lol. I did notice that I'd get BH after taking them, so they're definitely doing something! She also told me to keep taking them after the birth, they can help with milk production and getting the uterus and tummy muscles all back into place

Lol yep, she's still cooking away in there! Things seem to be changing though, I don't think I've got too much longer to go (touch wood). I wouldn't put down being overdue to a lack of effectiveness in the RLT though, as I say I started late and didn't do the tea first. Also, I definitely notice BH after taking them, so I'm confident they are working to tone the uterus.

You haven't got long to either J! Very exciting, I'll watch out for your BA

33 weeks should be fine. RLT isn't meant to induce labour but to tone the uterus. I took them in my fourth pregnancy and noticed a difference in my BH / pre-labour, and still went to 10 days post-dates

It's a tea that you can also buy in tablet form that you take in your third trimester that is meant to tone your uterus and make the pushing stage of your labour easier and more effective. Don't know much else about any other teas that assist in pregnancy and birth I'm sorry...

    Hope this helps!

There's something about peppermint tea I've read, but I can't remember what. I can't even remember if it's good or bad during pregnancy (though I do remember it can help ease nausea...)

I've never read/heard anything bad about peppermint tea during pregnancy. I drank my RLT mixed with peppermint tea as the flavour of the RLT isn't that exciting on it's own
