Just wondered if there was a difference between the two. I went to chemist today to get some raspberry leaf tablets, and I have heard a few people on here talking about EPO tablets.
If they are different, what are the differences between them?
I'm not sure of the difference which is why i'm taking both. I think they are both used to assist with the softening of the cervix prior to birth. EPO can also be inserted as well as taken orally, which RLT can't be.
Fletch, love that pic of zane kissing your bump (well, can't really call it a bump anymore hey!!!) Not long at all, I am soooo longing for D day, I just can't wait to experience labour, pain and all, I have never been so excited about anything in my life, such a different experience to awaiting the arrival of Jackson.
Hi Hope,
RTL can be taken from as early as the third month. Depending what form you take though. There is the tablet form, which is only advised to take from the start of the third trimester I think, and then there is a tea form. The tea form and be taken from as early as three months but only 1 cup a day, then from 32weeks 2 cups a day and from 36 weeks 3 cups a day. I got this information from the back of a packet I have, but I have two and both have different times but both are similiar.
I'm not sure about the EPO, I did ask my midwife about when to start taking them when I was 28weeks and she said it was fine to do so, but I'm not sure when the earliest is.
Hope this helps.
Hope, I am not sure about the EPO either because no one I have asked about it has even heard about using it for that, so I decided not to take it. I am taking natures own raspberry leaf tabs and they are fine from the 3rd tri.
