    Pre-Labour??

    Just a quick question...

When did you start getting pre-labour? What was pre-labour like for you (eg.. what happened etc)? How long after this started did the real thing kick off??

i started getting pre labour at 35 weeks. DD dropped, started having regular BH, the runs, night sweats and i was losing my mucus plug. This went on for 3 weeks.

I had pre labour for two weeks with ds3 which was irregular contractions but I could tell the difference when the real deal started! This time not so much pre labour which is just as frustrating as it keeps you guessing when it will all start!!

I had pre-labour from about 37 weeks. For me it was BH which had a bit of ouch in them, lots of back pain, especially at night, lots of period like cramps. I went into labour on my due date, so it was 2-3 weeks for me.

With DS I don't remember having any BH at all, but started having period pain cramps and back pain pretty consistently from 37 weeks.
This time around i am having heaps of BH already and the 'cervix grinding' from bub has started a lot earlier... not that that particularly means much!

I think i had pre-labour from the 37 week mark with DS2 & DD, they were cramps and twinges here the there but i was awake at 3am when the real thing started with DD and the feeling (it wasn't pain then) was completely different. I'd explain it as a thick feeling across my lower belly. DS2 was different, the pre-labour was similar but the real thing started with my waters breaking and no other feelings at all at the time.

I started getting pre labour signs around 36 weeks and I went into labour at 37w 6d. First, my pelvic bone started hurting so bad I felt like it was going to break whenever I walked around. A couple days later I was losing little bits of my plug with no blood in it. Night I went into labor I was walking around the stroe with DH picking out a movie and felt something gross in my pants. Went to the bathroom and had my bloody show. We got home an hour later and went to bed. 5 minutes after falling asleep my water broke.

Pre labour started for me around 40+3 and lasted 5 days...... pretty much every 20 mins I would have mild pains that ramped up nearly every night in intensity but not occurence. For a few nights from around 1am - 7am I would have to stand and rock through each one, then it would soften during the day. By day 5 I was exhausted. I didn't really notice at the time when it changed to full on labour until I found out I was 8cm, then I realised it had been getting more painful!

I think I was experiencing pre-labour for about a week or 2 before going into labour. I was having bad lower back pain, it wasn't until I was in labour that I realised thats what it was as I felt my contractions as really low, strong period pain that went all the way round to my back (if that makes sense) At the time I just though it was aches and pains of being pregnant. I started loosing my plug 3-4 days before going into labour

I can't remember now but it was much earlier second time around. Actually I think I wrote a thread, I'll go investigate.

ETA- ok, I think it started 2-3 weeks before she was born.

    How are you going?

    Thanks girls.

I think it would be somewhat pre-labour then. This is the 3rd day. Started off 2 nights ago when we were watching better homes and gardens (lol as you do..). I got the same hard belly I get with my BH but it had period pain with it. They came about every 7-8 minutes and lasted about 20-30 seconds. This lasted about 3 hours until I went to sleep. Yesterday was a crazy busy day for me but they did the same thing all day. I didnt time them as I was out but I would have about 4-5 in an hour (that i would have to stop what i was doing and breathe through them). On and off all day.... then went away as I went to sleep (or they kept going?? i just slept through them??). Then the same senerio today. It doesnt matter whether im sitting, standing, bending... etc they just come when they come and moving posisiton doesnt make them go away.

I usually get a huge boot from bub after one stops... dont think she likes them! lol.

Im more than happy to let them go on for weeks (I dont get much of a choice anyway ) I was just wondering if it was what I was experiencing as I dont remember it with DD.
