    sharp pains

    Hi all;

    So yesterday we reached our due date and still are yet to meet our little one.
    But my question is, for the last few days on and off I have this sharp pain down low. It kinda feels like bub is hitting 'the exit point' with force. If that makes sense?!
    Along with this I am getting tightenings that are regular for a while then they stop (im assuming they're bhs!)

    Last night the pain kept me up for a few hours, and today it has being there more often than not.

    So Im wondering what do you think it is? Is it prelabour?

    Cheers in advance!

    It was the same for me. Second time around & had about 20 hours of irregular contractions before they got regular & it was actually easier to deal with for me. Kinda like a practise lead up iykwim?

    Hi Justine

    Thanks for posting as I have been having similar pains which feel like they are on/around my cervix but being a first timer I had no idea what they were or if it meant anything! Mine are not constant, they come and go and don't last long but they can be rather intense and make me stop and go "ouchie!". I also thought I wasn't getting BH but over the past few days I have noticed that my belly frequently goes really hard all of a sudden, stays that way for a minute or 2 then slowly softens. Assuming this is BH? I don't feel any discomfort it's only that my belly is so big now and I spend a long time looking at it that I have noticed these things happening.

    I really hope things are starting to happen for both of us. I'm now 11 days over and well and truly over the waiting! I'm going to the hospital today for monitoring and I think they'll start the gel today too. Saturday is it for me, if nothing starts by then they're going to commence a full induction which I really wanted to avoid

    Good luck with, sounds like we're going to have our litle ones around the same time!

    Fi - the painless tightenings would be BH, the uncomfortable ones would be contractions. Sounds like pre labour for you too
    Maybe go for a walk & see if it gets things moving a bit?

    Thank you so much!

    Fi- hopefully for the both of us we've hit pre labour! Now all Im assuming we both want is for labour alone to set in! :P

    Im asking my body for no more teasing, no more hinting, just get to the point and start labour!!!
