More just a random question I've been thinking about. Between 28 - 30 weeks my midwife said I should be feeling baby move 10 times in the course of 12 hours. My Baby is still moving 20-30+ times over that kind of period (more sometimes especially in the evenings bubs likes to do the big kicks and things) however, when should the movement start to slow down becuase of bubs size?
My last OB appointment was 30 weeks and he said that my belly is spot on for dates, so I'm assuming that means bubs is average size not too big or small? Not really sure this being my first, and my OB is the relaxed sort so dosent overwhelm with information if you know what I mean
Im 33 weeks, and my bub still moves heaps! my last bub i could hardly feel at all, i thought bub was spose to start slowing down when labour is near but ive been having contractions on and off since last sunday and her movement hasnt changed, so i guess it depends on the baby
No real change in movement here either. If anything, it's maybe gotten more frequent as some of the smaller movements that I might not have noticed previously can be felt quite distinctly - that or he's just being a wiggle-bum this morning.
I think the numbers mentioned by the midwife are maybe a base number, if it's less than that they might want to get you in for monitoring or a scan to check bloodflow through the cord - when I was pg with DD she noticeably dropped off in her movements at about 35 weeks, which resulted in my being sent for an u/s and then ctg every 3 days until she was born (induced due to non-reactive ctg, or lack of movement) at 38 weeks.
Wouldn't worry too much about bub being *more* active, except in terms of gee am I going to get any sleep tonight?
This baby has been very busy the whole pregnancy! Sometimes painfully! He's probably only slowed just slightly in the last week but not by much. DS1 moved a lot too but did slow a bit in the last couple of weeks and I too had some CTG monitoring but mainly to keep my OB happy as I wanted to go as far over my EDD as possible before being induced. I think the types and stength of the movements change according to the size of the baby and the amount of room they have but should still be regular.
Thanks guys its good to know that bubs dosen't neccessarily have to slow down, I will be happier that way less worry LOL Bubs is still going strong moving around alot so all good. Also likes to shove me away from desks if I sit to close.. haha
