    Sooo hungry!

I seem to have gone back to being insanely hungry all the time! It was like this at the start of the pregnancy, but now I'm at the end (37 weeks) and I find myself absolutely starving every morning and needing to have two breakfasts!

Anyone else have this? Is it just cause the baby grows so much in the last few weeks?

I found towards the end I would be really hungry when I woke up but I think it was cos I couldn't eat much at night cos of my belly issues.

Nothing wrong with having 2 breakfasts

I used to have two breakky's too. The same as you, in the beginning of the pg, and towards the end. Baby and your body is preparing for bub to be born. How exciting!!

yeah the last couple of weeks I've been starving!! i usually wake up abotu 4 or 5am really really hungry so just drink a huge bottle of water to try to get through to breakfast lol.
But yeah, I think it's cos bub puts on all that fat in the last trimester so is demanding more of you iykwim.

I also find it really hard to eat healthy when I"m like this! it's like 'feed me NOW' so i reach for the easiest options unfortunately.

i find snacking helps to some degree but my snack size has been growing to main meal size lol.

I was like that for the last couple of weeks too, figured it was my body storing up the goods for the big day and fattening up bub

Late last year I spent the day with a friend who was 38 wks pregant, and all she did was eat all day, HUGE amounts of food and I really noticed it, went home and said to DH it was like she was fueling up. Txt next morning said bub had arrived just past midnight!

So grateful to find this thread! I have been feeling the same since 37 weeks. It's waking me up early and annoying DH cos I'm making noise in the kitchen sometimes as early as 5am, and trust me this is NOT normal for me, I am not a morning person at all!
I can't get back to sleep unless I get up and eat something, I baked some muffins the other day which have been very handy for a quick pre-breaky snack.

I am also starving again like an hour after dinner, which is very naughty as it's resulted in 3 maccas runs which I am very ashamed about.

Today I thought I'd save myself the grief later and just make myself two ham sandwiches instead of one!

But having a growling tummy really upsets me as I was anorexic when I was 17 and it makes me feel like I'm back there again...

Two breakfasts has been quite normal for me throughout this pregnancy - but I think its because I often forget that I ate already!!
DP has been calling me a hobbit (nice huh?) cos they eat all the time

I am a two breakfast girl when not pregnant, hobbits have been mentioned to me too as are known for multiple breakfasts. All through pregnancy I am a three breakfast girl and multiple snacks, pretty much everynight I am up 4 ish for a snack, best thing was bananas but now they are too expensive so am still searching for that perfect middle of night eat while half asleep snack.

So yes eating all the time seems perfectly normal to me, and from last time first and third tri worst.
