My friend is due 8th July, but she is having some troubles with not being able to control her sugar levels, she was booked in to have a c-sec next friday and got the call last night that it had been cancelled. They are telling her that she can have the steriod injections for bubbys lungs etc, after telling her last week she could not. She is going to see her gp today, and see if she can call the hosp and see whats going on but i feel so sorry for her. Does anyone know if she can have the steriods for bubs lungs? Does it affect her having GD?
hi, i had GD and i ended up in hospital at 34 weeks. i was given steroid injections and just had to increase my insulin doses for a couple of days. DS was born 2 days later. it does bring your sugar levels up but nothing they cant control if she is in hospital. but yes she can still have them
I had GD and was given the steroid injections for DDs lungs as I developed pre-eclampsia and HELLP at 33w 6d and was induced at 34w 1d - my sugar levels were higher but still managable after the steroid injection.
