Strep B testing and bleeding after

I had my Strep B swap today - about 4pm-ish. This evening, I had a little blood come from the area. I'm currently 36+4.
Do I take it that this could be normal - the blood trace afterwards (it was only a couple of spots or so)?
I have put a pad since I got home on just in case it's not. But I'm not sure I should ring the hospital and get it checked out. I only noticed it when I went to the loo (around 8:30pm-ish) as I was out at a friends. Noticed when I wiped only and then when I went again (1/2hr later ish) there were a couple of spots on my undies.

I have never, ever, ever had blood from the Strep swab. Its a cotton bud that doesnt even really go that far in. Think DNA swab, the cotton bud is just wiped on the inside of the cheek. The strep swab is the same and shouldnt cause bleeding at all.

The midwife told me how to do the test (had to do a wee test as well for PE checking) and I didn't think I put it up too far to cause bleeding. I haven't had any spots since I got home so I think I'm just going to leave the pad on overnight and see how it goes - (checking everytime I have to visit the loo overnight as well. Usually don't bother with the light in loo at night).
Oh the spots were bright red blood - don't know if that makes a difference or not.

The group B strep is the one where you put the cotton bud in your bottom, right? If that's where the blood is coming from then you probably have piles

The only thing that would cause bleeding from the swap is if you put the swap too far in.
It should only go just inside the vagina, around the anus and the perineum - like only the depth of the cotton tip itself.
Provided you did the test correctly, the spotting is most likely unrelated to the test.
It is possible you have small hemorrhoids...although at your stage of pregnancy I wouldn't be surprised if you have some spotting from your plug. I was spotting for on and off over about 3 weeks from 35 weeks, had a small show at 37 weeks.

Anyway, Im sure you are fine. If the bleeding increases markedly, see your doctor.

yep i was wondering if it was perhaps a small part of your plug?
i wouldnt worry too much about it if no more had come. assume baby movements etc all ok?

That's pretty much what I thought. Might have gone a little too high or start of my plug coming away. No blood overnight until first thing this morning and only a couple of spots again on my pad. Did have some stringy stuff (not sure if it's discharge or not - I haven't had much throughout pg) this morning as well.

Bubs is still moving around this morning but will keep an eye on it.
