    Question Lost mucus plug?????

    Hi all,

I have been finally generally unwell for weeks now. A combination of back pain, illness and stress. What fun. Anyway, my cm has been increased over the past few weeks and this morning (TMI) I have white clumps when I woke up, after dropping of the kids I went to the toilet to find a big clump of yellow thick jelly. Could this be MP?
I didnt lose it with any of the other kids so Im not sure. Baby isn't due until 7/7.
It's my daughter's sixth bday today and I have so much to do plus a McD's party this evening. Any thoughts? Should I contact midwife or just wait?

It sounds like the plug to me, but the plug coming away doesn't nec mean labour is going to start. Ring your midwife and inform her what has happened, but don't panic. The mucous of the plug is constantly being replenished and it may still be weeks untill something else happens. Take it a bit easier, maybe ring family members and ask them to help you for the day if you can. Keep up your fluids and just be aware that it MAY happen, or it may not. Be prepared IYKWIM for both circumstances. I'm sure ur little one will be in there a while longer honey

It could just be discharge. But given that you have had 3 children already and you have been experiencing persistant back pain - its possible this could be the start of something.

Did all the other children deliver on their EDD or did they come early?

Wishing you all the best. Keep us posted.

    Hey Ollie,
Wow, it sounds like the MP to me, but I'm no expert. I would call your career and let them know what has happened, then they will be able to inform you what to do either way. Plus one thing I have learnt is, it doesn't hurt to ask. Wow how exciting, it's not long for us all now. Good Luck, keep us posted.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOUR DD TOO

    Hi Ollie

Just as you described that was what my plug looked like. But like Katkins said it doesn't mean that labour is going to start.
I started losing mine a few weeks before I went into labour.
    All the best sweet:-)

that's how I feel. I spent 4 hrs in hospital yesterday whilst having strong contractions every 8 mins, only to be told to go home and come back later if my waters broke. My waters have never been broken, I have had to have them broken. Anyway it was definately a MP as it has continued to come away.
I have Jazmine's(DD) bday party last night, which went well. I went to bed at 11pm and was awake a 2am with contractions again(?really painful BH?) and feel really tired this morning. TMI I have had to change my underware twice since 2am and I keep getting pains. Dont know what to do? Last night I could have sworn the head was droping into place as I had so much pressure and pain in my pelvis and today I can hardly walk. Ill keep u updated. Trying to keep myself busy.

I lost my mucous plug about 2 weeks ago.
It was slight over 3 days (all once off occurances).
THe first 2 days were similar to what you describe like a yellow jelly but had streaks of bright red blood in it and on the third day it was a big blob (about 50mL) of what i can only describe as dark chocolate yogo! (yes the dessert) all at once nice and clean... nothing since then and still waiting for bub! lol

No news, have had a long day. I keep having to change my undies as TMI it's like I have wet myself but I know I havent. If this continues tonight will go for a check up tomorrow.
Princessmya is this ur first baby? You haven't got long to go, how exciting.

Ollie, the wet undies might be your waters leaking. Are the contractions still intense?

Oh Ollie, I would definately go back tomorrow. Sounds like it could be your waters leaking. What type of wetness is it? Discharge or liquid?

    Hi girls,

No not long now - 2 weeks today! lol - of course i am not counting.

Ollie i would definately let the hospital know about the wetness especially if it is just fluid and not discharge as if your waters are leaking (and it can be little bits if bubs head is taking up space) they generally wont like you to be leaking/break for more than 12 hours due to increase in infection!

Call them - how exciting and let us know what happens.

And yes this is my first bub. so very exciting... havent gotten nervous yet so i guess that is a good thing. just waiting... i get excited when the BH get increasingly painful but then they go away and i think... gosh... just teasing again. lol

Good morning all, here's the update.
In the past 24hrs Ihave changed 6 pairs of undies TMI. It's clear fluid, like you wet yourself. I have put a pad on this morning after waking up with wet undies. There is a pink tinge I can now see because pad is white. I have been getting pains on a nd off. But this morning Im feeling like when you get period pains when AF is coming. I guess I should call the hospital, Im hesitating as I have been in this week and nothings happened. Dumb hey. You know what it's let when you have all these false alarms. My luck is Ill be told its discharge. It smells more like semen TMI. What are your thoughts. Iam sooooo over this right now.

Ollie - like i said in my other post - definately call.

I am the same that i dont want to look like a dill if i ring and it just weed myself or it was d/c but so many women do it and it is better to get checked than get an infection up where bub is.

So call them now and get checked out! (especially if it is getting more and more - as it may mean you are dilating too to let more fluid through).

I know it is early for you but bubs come when bubs are ready!

    Hey Ollie,

I am no expert on the whole labour thing but from what you have said, pink tinge to your discharge and it smells more like semen, sounds like your waters. But I am just saying this from what I have read on BB.

I would go to the hospital, just for peice of mind. Even if they do send you home, then atleast you know everything is a-ok and they may even tell you how much longer you have of this...

    Good luck!!

Ollie, o.k. now I'm not advising I'm TELLING YOU CALL THE HOSPITAL AND GET UP THERE.
It definately sounds like your waters to me. Like Veronica said I'm no expert but it sounds like a definate text book case of ruptured waters to me, the consistancy, the smell, the streaks of blood. And when I went into early labour, I had the A/F cramps all morning before the heavy contractions started. SO HAVE YOU CALLED YET?
But just remember to let us know what is happening before you go, text me if you want on 0416055318 incase you need me to post a birth announcement in our BB group.
    Good luck.
