Hi there i am wondering if there was anybody else who has been feeling swollen and all puffy 'down there' i am almost 37 weeks and it is really hard to wipe myself when i go to the loo (TMI sorry ) plus if i squat down or kneel i feel like everything is bulging out!!
I am wondering if this could be a sign that things are getting ready, i have also been getting serious hip/pelvis pain especially when i try to stand or lay and have a consistent pain running down the back of my right thigh from up in my bum cheek lol??
The baby isnt engaged but her head is 'locked in' as the midwife mentioned..she said it cant be moved from side to side.
I am very uncomfortable and feel asthough i need to do no2s but nothing happens should i start getting organised or is it just all in my head??
I am glad it is not just me.
I must say i had the perfect pregnancy with #1 and this pregnancy it has all gone to S###t since i hit about 36wks and the pain seems to be getting worse.
I must say though mine is only at night time and starts at around 6.30pm till the morning. I can hardly walk and if i need to go to the loo during the night or get up to DD #1 i am literally stuck and it takes at least 5-10 mins for me to get out and i am in pain BIG TIME! I feel like a real nanna and it is like all my joints/pelvis have gone in me. I can also here clicking as well! The Ob says it is normal but i am seeing him agaon this Thursday so will let you know what he says.
Yep I am exactly the same (although I am roughly 6wks behind you both)...I have felt very sore, achy and puffy downstairs for a while now..since at least 24wks. I also have trouble walking and I toddle like a granny hahaha...I have mentioned all of the above to my midwives and all say its normal...so blah...i don't know how to help, sorry! Wish I did!!!
It gets worse with each pregnancy to i have to tell you sorry.
I have had it from very early on and it gets more and more swollen as time gets on.
There called varicose veins ladies and i can assure you they should go away once bub is born. If not go see your gp. They are very uncomfortable and at times sore, but its not for long.
Thanks for your replies i didnt have any of these symptoms during my first pregnancy and i was working fulltime 40hrs per week!!! I didnt even think of varicose veins lol it does make sense though.
I am just glad that i am not the only one who is experiencing this..i didnt go into labour naturally with DS so i dont know what to expect or what everything feels like...i actually feel like this is my first pregnancy
I feel so lucky. I haven't felt swollen at all, I just get the pelvic pressure now and again, now more often than before but it's not debilitating. I think varicose veins can be hereditary, and my mum never had them so maybe that's why. I have a feeling my labour's going to be terrible just because I've had a good pregnancy.
A lot of the girls I know (myself included) had the swollen pubis and pubic region during late pgcy. We theorised it's natures way of preparing that region to stretch... Giving us that little bit of extra cushioning and since everything swells (feet and all) late in pgcy, it could just be venous return is a bit poorer so fluid runs down ending up gathering there and in feet. It will go after birth, so don't panic.... It is a weird feeling tho! *hugs*
OMG, I feel like my privates are as big as my head. So painful. I have vein bulging and loads os blood spots(TMI). I have found that place a cold pack on and off for a little while helps, that and laying down. I told poor dh that there was not chance of getting even close to me because of it. Ouch!
well, i'm glad that this is normal - i was beginning to worry!! it's not one of the symptoms that they seem to discuss in the PG books that i have and i was beginning to wonder what the hell was happening to my usually neat little package!!
i'm only 23 weeks and am already really swollen down there, and have a severe case of "monster flaps" (LOL Sammi-j!!)... better not continue to swell for the next 17 weeks or i won't be able to walk by the end of it!!
my DH thinks it's most amusing!!
I saw this thread earlier today, and my curiosity got the best of me, so I have to grab a mirror and take and look and OMG what the hell is going on down there. I was totally freaked out with what I saw. Everything looks so HUGE, and purple and really red & just HUGE. I especailly recall being totally freaked out but the huge lumpy thing inside, I'm guessing it's just part of my vagina wall getting pushed down by bubbas weight, but it looked like a big fat tumor or something. I have come to the conclusion it's why nature has made it so we can't see down there normally, otherwise we would all be put off having babies, well me anyway that is for sure.
mummymel that is the funniest thing i have read in a long time!!!
Im sorry it made you look... and scare yourself lol...
You must be right i am so glad i cant really see what is actually going on down there unless i try...the only reason i really paid any attention to it is because i can feel the difference!!
Once again thanks to everyone for putting me at ease, its good to know its "normal"
Hehehee - how true!! I commented to someone the other day that 'downstairs' looks like a giant profiterole - its so puffy!! But i was assured by the midwife too that is all perfectly normal
You guys have all given me a good laugh.
I will be keeping an eye out for it this pg as I vaguley remember feeling "enlarged" last time but didn't think too much of it.
Lisa cracked me up with "...I commented to someone the other day..." as this would be a normal topic for conversation!! You've gotta love BB as nothing is too taboo to talk about. Have a great afternoon all.
