How long after being fully engaged did you go into labour?

Hi Girls,

I had my 36 week check up today and my OB told me that bubs is fully engaged (0/5), to which he said 'excellent'!

Im just wondering how long it took for you to go into labour after bubs fully engaging?

Any feedback would be great so I don't freak out too much!

I'm 38 weeks now with 2nd baby and not engaged... but first time round I was engaged at 35 weeks and baby didn't come out til I was induced at 41 weeks and 3 days!

I was around 34 Weeks with DD and she came out at 39w4d!

My sil's first bub was engaged at 32 weeks and she got induced at 41 weeks 3 days!

Wow, so it doesn't mean that Im going to go into labour in the near future! I thought that being engaged meant the birth was imminent. Phew.

we were 3/5 engaged 2 days before she was born...

what do you mean by 0/5 or 3/5?

mum to be, its to do with how much of babys head is /is not in the pelvis... i think!
Some docs/midwives write 0/5 to mean none or 0/5 of bubs head can be felt above the pelvis... but then to confuse you some write 0/5 to mean that none of bubs head is engaged at all.

Yeah the morning that my waters broke I had a midwife appointment and she said I was 3/5. I was 39weeks pregnant. She was born the next day. I don't think it should be used an indication on impending labour or birth. Good luck though, you could be different.

I was fully engaged with DS at 35 weeks and was induced at 41.

I was never fully engaged before labour. My friend though was for weeks before, so it depends on the bubs and if they're ready to come out or not.
