Is there such a thing as too many Braxton Hicks???
O.K Girls, I'm so confused...
I'm just over 32 weeks pregnant with twins and have been experiencing Braxton Hicks for what seems like forever - since about 21-22 weeks, however over the weekend they seem to be coming more frequently. Some are just the tightening, others are stronger where it seems like they are also constriciting my lungs making me breathless and I have even had some that are uncomfortable enough that they have woken me from a nap or sleep.
Yesterday I timed some of them and I was getting between 6-7 per hour lasting about 2 1/2 minutes every 7-10 minutes apart. I have been told that twin a is already starting to engage but so far have not had a "show" at all. I know I should expect them to get more frequent as my belly keeps growing as I'm now measuring bigger than a singleton pregnancy but am I getting too many.
I start CTG monitoring at my hospital starting on Friday but want to know that I'm not going crazy.
When I was in hospital the other week they did a CTG as I was getting the same thing but they did say to me that it is completely normal especially with multiple pregnancies as we have twice the amount of baby in there so our bodies are feeling more IYKWIM. Wouldnt hurt to talk to your midwife/OB though if you want to check up on things before friday because I never had a show with any of my babies and my waters didn't break naturally with Claire either despite being 6cm dialted by the time i got to hospital.
We started the fortnightly CTG monitoring 4 weeks ago and I have a tip for you get them to set it up with you lying slightly on your side, they try doing it on your back but the extra weight from twins will restrict your blood flow and make you feel sick and dizzy and just YUCK!
I just rang the hospital and they told me to come in this afternoon to get monitored and not to wait until Friday, they told me better to be safe than sorry IYKWIM.
