so with my ds I was induced n didn't see it.....
this time im lucky enough (not!) to have a varicose vein in my vagina! I know weird and uncomfortable, but thankfully not painfully.
So DH n I DTD maybe a week ago n there was a pink tinge in amongst everything but not enough to concern me. but ive had it every day since especially in the early mornings around 4-5am. it's mixed with stringy bits of 'snot' is the easiest way to describe it. I do suffer from chronic thrush, but this just seems different. is it worth mentioning at my antenatal appt on eed or could it just be things starting to happen?
fwiw ive had no issues, pain, swelling, change with the vein so I dont think its that.
Hi Kirley,
I'm on my first pg but what your describing sounds like what the midwife was talking about at class the other night- mucousy with blood.
I'd call the hospital to check so to put your mind at ease.
It sounds like your mucous plug to me. I do know it can regenerate thoughout a pregnancy but at 37+ weeks pregnant I'd say you will just lose it slowly until bubs decides to make an entrance.
Give your Midwife a call if you want to make sure it's normal.
thanks girls. im not really worried now that ive figured out thats what it more then likely is. bub is really active at night with lots of headbutts so makes sense that by 4am it could be mucous plug!
sounds like your plug, this is going to be really gross, but its what i ask the women i care for.. is if you were to pick it up and throw it at the wall, would it stick? or slide down. snotty and glue like and if you think it might stick, sounds like a plug =)
some women loose theirs all at once, others loose a tiny little bit every day for weeks...
I lost bits and pieces before I had DS. (DD was a planned c/s, so never saw my plug).
Then when I was in labour I lost it, it made me want to vomit... So freakin gross.
Haha yep it would definitely stick to the wall!!
Thanks for the description!! It's only a smallish amount like when you would blow your nose so i guess i'm guna be one of those ones who looses it slowly...bummer! Means i'll wonder when i'm going to go into labour even more! haha
