    Tiredness

    Hi everyone!

Is anyone else out there SUPER tired?? I feel like I am forever yawning.. and wanting to sleep. I get roughly 6 hours of sleep a night but it is broken due to trips to the loo, being uncomfortable and my mind racing!!

I am sitting here nearly falling asleep...

Sorry... really just having a bit of a whinge but there is noone at home to listen to me

I have days when I am quite tired, I think the energy surge of the 2nd tri may be dipping!!! Perhaps try some relaxation during the day - just half an hour here or there? Or is there a way you can get a few more hours at night? 6 hours is what I usually get (when not preg) but I need a lot more these days so I am usually in bed by 11 and up at 7 ish. Keeping in mind that you are getting up in the night 6 hrs is not much... I figure before I have my first baby I may as well enjoy as much sleep as possible! DH and I also have snuggly sleep ins on the weekends to try to catch up and relax pre baby...I guess weekend sleep ins will be a thing of the past soon.

I wish i could stay up till 11pm!!! This last week i am lucky to stay awake till 8.30pm. If i get my way im in bed at 7pm. During the week i get up at 6.30am and on weekends normally between 7am-8.30am. Either way im still TIRED and can't get out of bed!!! How i will cope when bubbs is here, who knows. Don't think getting up to go to the loo maybe 7 times a night helps though.

Completely exhausted and counting the days left at work (7 to go!!!!!!!!)
We started antenatal classes last night - they finish at 9.30pm and realistically, I'm home and in bed by 10.30pm at the latest but it nearly killed me! My alarm went off this morning at 7.30am and I thought I had lay there for about another 20 mins. Got up and realised it was 8.25am!!!! Sooooooooooooo tired.

I have tried sleeping during the day but I can't seem to sleep!! So I lay down on the couch for a while but I'm not too sure it is doing anything for me!

Lil MG- How exciting about you finishing work soon! YEY! We started our antenatal classes a couple of weeks ago and ours finish at 9.30pm too. So DH and I are both stuffed by the time we get home which is about 10ish (we live half an hour away from the hospital!)

Crazy, isn't it!!!! And yep, I know what it's like to have people tell you that you shouldn't let pregnancy slow you down. My boss, the EXPERT and a man (so he'd really know what pregnancy was like ) always hints that he thinks I'm lazy. Another reason I can't WAIT to finish up there!!

Anyway hun, you get as much rest as you need whenever you can because you're right, we'll be getting a lot less soon enough!!!

my pg supp elevit has 60mg of iron it in and i've been very pleased with these as my energy levels are really great - maybe you should look into this as they are great for breastfeeding too.
I think you could not be sleeping very well due to a variety of reasons, one of which being that this is your first baby (well I think it is?). This in itself is enough to plague your subconcious and keep one up. If you can't sleep, just rest when you can.
One thing I do is rub a little lavendar oil on my temples about 30 mins before I go to bed/sleep as this helps to relax me (my mind gets overactive at times).
Good luck and hope you feel less tired soon,
    EJ

sitting here right now Im exhasted ! I'm up at 6:30 and in bed at the latest 9:30, coz I push myself to stay up. I know I shouldn't, but seems all the best tv is on at 8:30! My body will be exhausted, but seems I can't sleep. So at the moment, dh and I fall asleep listening to an audio book. I can't count the amount of times we've had to take the book back abit coz we've both fallen asleep. The frequent trips to the loo are terrible, aren't they? I also wake up heaps, dying of thirst and my mouth is bone dry. so having some water sure adds to the amount of times I get up a night. Trying to find a comfy position is terrible too.
Does anyone else get the question - how are you feeling today? And when you tell them that your exhausted/ tired, they say get used to it? Drives me crazy. I understand how much less sleep I'll get when baby joins us !
Good luck with overcoming the tiredness!

Misty - seems were due the same day!

I feel exactly the same as you sconeonamision!!

I hate it too when people ask how you are feeling too when you get that response. I get mad with my Mum coz she keeps telling me that I shouldn't be so tired and not to sleep all the time (which I don't!)

Not long now though and even if our eyes are hanging out of ours heads we will have a beautiful little bubby!!

Interesting... I am *tired* yes, but a few weeks ago I was so boneachingly tired that I would come home and burst into tears. Didn't help that I had the classic insomnia as well.
The OB found that my iron levels were very low, and told me to go onto Fefol iron supplements, as my Blackmores Preg/BF supplement had bugger-all iron (his words, lol!) This worked wonders- I'm still stuffed at the end of the day, and need to be tucked up with my pregnancy pillow/teddybear/DH (preferably all three) at 10pm at the latest- but I'm not *exhausted*. Would it be worth asking them to check for iron levels at all?
