Tripped over in the middle of the road

    Hey all.
Just wondering if any ladies here have had any falls when pregnant?

I got back after a weekend away, and decided to take my two border collies for a walk yesterday....i was halfway across the road when they both went in different directions, and got the leads wrapped around my legs, and they pulled me down in the middle of the bitcumen road....

I fell pretty hard, landing on my bum/tail bone.
I grazed all up my leg, on my foot, and my ankle...and took skin off on my elbow...

I was worried if taking a fall like this on a hard surface could have injured or harmed bub...I have felt light kicks since, and have had no bleeding or anything...so should everything be okay??

    ohhh golly....

yeah it was weird, but as i felt myself falling, i immediately thought i should fall back and not forward, so i sort of intentionally made my bum hit first, and spare my tummy...

Its crazy how your mind thinks quickly when it comes to bubbas safety

I have felt kicks, so i might just see how i go, and mention it to my midwife at my next visit next tuesday

i know, you'll hurt yourself to protect your bubba! i remember when ds was about 6 weeks old, i had him in a front carrier, andi took him bushwalking, going down a hill i tripped, and i made myself twist my knee and ankle so that he wasn't hurt... all in about 5 seconds.

if you didn't fall on your tum i think you'll be ok, they're pretty well protected in there.

wow that's pretty brave taking 2 border collies out for a walk! I found it hard walking just one border collie as a teen. They really are beautiful dogs, loyal n loving but soo fast and strong!
Im pretty sure bub is super fine! Take care!!!

Yep, and funny enough, one of them only has 3 legs, but shes the strongest of the two lol

They are gorgeous, but as you said, very active and very strong when they wanna be.

My 3 year old girl was hit by a car when she was 1 1/2, and had to have her front leg amputated... when i picked her up from the vet the next day, she was already running fine on 3 legs and still jumped up on me!!!

Its amazing the strength and muscle she has in her other front leg now...she jumped up at my 6 foot male friend the other day and almost knocked him over lol.....he was speechless...and shes actually broken about 8 pailings on our fence, cause she jumps up at shadows...lol

She still swims fine too, which was a total shock to me last summer lol

I'm sitting her twisting and cringing at the thought!!!! I fell once, in the hospital with DD2 at 36 weeks, they hooked me up and caused such a fuss, I kept saying I was fine, gave my MIL a nasty scare. They wouldn't let me go for hours. Glad they checked me out though. When she was born I had a cup of blood clotted above my placenta, it was a slow bleed, It was an abruption, none the less. She also weighed less then DD1, which makes me wonder if she was starving in there for the last few weeks, my poor baby. They think it was from the fall, I had been having a bit of a cramping pain up top, but it was pretty dull so I ignored it. There was all sorts of drama when I gave birth to her, but that's a whole other story.
With DS I was about 28 weeks when I gave my MIL a second heart attack by falling front first down her steps but landed on my forearms , bruised and battered I was fine and so was bubs.

I would get checked out just to put your mind at ease.

omg, that sounds like a scary experience. i would have been pooping myself with worry.

I might just inform the midwife....mind you bub has been a lot quieter the last 2 days now, however i still feel some movement at night.

OMG! You poor thing ! My SIL took a tumble down 3 steps and her bby was perfectly fine. I wouldn't worry too much but I would mention it at your next visit. Big hugs to you darl
I think it's probably more of a shock than anything serious. Good luck, I'm sure bubs will be fine.
