turning a breech baby...any suggestion that worked for you

Hello everyone, my last Midwife appointment resulted in me finding out that bubs is breech...I've been religiously doing what all of the books and websites say, but was wondering if anyone had their own little success story using something different. With my son he turned breech at 38 weeks and I had an ECV done, but as this one has done it earlier I hope to sort it out myself or at worst with a Chiro or acupuncturist. Thanks for any suggestions or directions!

Have you tried the spinning babies web site? Has lots of info, I would read up in there

There has been some success with aromatherapy and accupunture, doing a thing called moxibustion, which involes burning certain twigs of things between your toes (sounds weird, but apparently works). maybe checkout what is around in your area.
it is still earlier enough for bub to have the chance to turn by its self, but at the same time, its work checking into your options now.
    good luck with it!

Yep - acupuncture and moxibustion. Works a treat But I also used spinning babies information and was seeing a Webster technique trained chiropractor.

My bub turned breech at 31 weeks and I started to try to get him turning at 34 weeks - it worked within a couple of days. As the other ladies have said, the spinning babies website is a godsend! I find it's not organised very logically in that there are some pages that I stumbled across once or twice and couldn't find again. But what I suggest is the inversion that is on the spinning babies BLOG(the link is somewhere on the webpage! PM me if you can't find it). There is a video which shows a woman leaning on her forearms/head on the floor while kneeling on a couch. I did that also on my palms off the bed (the bed is much higher). I got a bit headspinny at first so just did it for half a minute a couple of times in the morning, repeated that night for longer, and so on for a few days. Bub started moving on the second day. He seemed to lie transverse for a while so I kept doing the inversions for a couple of days until I was more confident he'd turned - then waited until next OB appt to confirm.

The other thing I learned on spinning babies re: breech is to consider your pelvic balance. I know that I do have a wonky sacrum/SI joint in lower spine, this is apparently a risk factor for breech bubs as the womb is off centre so they find it more comfy to choose a 'non standard' position. I'm not sure if this is a concern for you too? I couldn't locate a "webster trained" chiro when I needed one all of a sudden so I went to my normal chiro (who i hadn't been to since pre-preg) - he assured me he was happy to do some adjustments. But I hated it, really uncomfortable and felt he didn't know the first thing about pregnant bodies! So a few days later I went to an osteopath who did some very gentle balancing movements.

Anyway all is good with me (so far) and I do hope it works for you quickly

Thank you to everyone for your wonderful advice, however, after trying everything and I mean everything, baby has still not moved. I went to have a turn done on Thursday only to be told that it is not safe to turn the baby as the cord is around it's neck (apparently quite rare for breech babies), which could be the reason that it has stubbornly stayed put (although it could also be because the estimated weight according to the scan is 8 pound already). As a result I have just over a week and a half to continue with the spinning hope before a c-section. Incredibly disappointed but happy to know that I have one happy and healthy baby and at least I will have one surprise!
