    Ultrasound?

hi there! i was just curious how many people out there found out the sex of there baby at there ultrasound only to give birth to the opposite! I'm due in 20 days and i found out at my 20 week ultrasound that we were having a girl but for some reason i just cant shake the feeling that it will be a boy! so my question is how many people were told the wrong sex?

mmm, not sure how common it is but yes it happened recently to a friend. She was told several times they were having a girl, decked the room out in pink etc, only to have a little boy come out instead!!!!

Evidently if they tell you it is a girl, it could still be a boy as the 'bits' coudl be hiding. But if they tell you it is a boy, it definatley is a boy!!

    good luck xxx

We found out the sex of our baby at our 20 week ultrasound and were told it was a girl - the first thing I asked when the baby finally popped out was 'is it a girl??' ! I felt fairly confident that she was a girl, but in the last few weeks I started thinking oh no what if it is a boy and they got it wrong!

I have heard a few stories (not anyone I know) of parents being told one thing and the baby pops out the opposite, not sure how common it is though.

Wow! You're due around the same time as me and expecting a girl after two boys like me

Don't worry, I have the exact same feelings! I think after having two of the same gender, it's hard to believe we really are having the opposite gender? Although I do remember feeling worried they got it wrong with DS2 as well, maybe it's just a normal thing we all go through? It doesn't help that I had a dream the other night that I had a boy instead .

I don't think it's really common to have gotten it wrong, but it does happen. We have friends who were told they were having a girl, but had a boy. I keep remembering that atm LOL! But really, everyone else I know who found out the gender was told correctly, so it seems pretty slim that you've been told the wrong thing

I'm sure your little girl really is a little girl . Not long now until you get to meet her!

I thought so too, but my sister who is PG & due at the end of sept had been told she wass expecting a boy, now they say could be a girl. evidently sometimes the 'girl bits' can be swollen & look a it like 'boy bits'.

I was told to expect a girl & had 3 scans to make sure - the first thing i said when she was born & DH said it's a girl was 'Thank goodness! Everything's pink!"

I too worried a bit as I had heard stories of people who had it wrong, don't know anyone personally though.

i really hope the ultrasound was right, i have bought sooooo much pink stuff! i would still be as happy if it is a boy but it would be nice to have at least one girl as this is going to be our last little bundle! my partner is also worried that if she comes out a he i will try again!!! I'm just so nervous, not long to go now!!
