    Very sore, achy hips/pelvis...:(

    Hi Girls

I was wondering if anyone can offer some advice here. I am waking up at least 3-4 times in the night with terribly sore hips. I feel like my bones are burning. It feels as though it is really deep within the hip joint and so so sore. I am sleeping with a body pillow between my legs but it is not bringing me much relief unfortunately...Also I meant to be wearing a tubey grip but I can't breathe properly with it on as I am very short of breath too...I have a brace which goes around my hips so I'll give that a try also.

Any suggestions would be appreciated, thanks

    Rach xx

Hiya Rach, I could have written your post...I'm exactly the same and have just gone for an appointment with an osteopath two days ago and although I'm still waking up once or twice with pain it's not as frequent or as severe so it might be worth ago. It is a horrible burning pain isn't it, just horrible.
While I was at the appointment I got her to check my tailbone which I hurt when I gave birth to my daughter and it is so damaged and bent the wrong way she couldn't find the end of it so I'm terrified what implications this will have on this birth, so now I have to worry about that as well.
Well I hope things get better for you, cheers Missy

Rach and others, I'm hearing you. This type of pain is really common - unfortunately the hips, lower back and pelvic joints all start to cop the brunt of our bubbas growing and moving down low in late pregnancy.
Seeing an osteopath who is experienced in pregnancy would be a good idea - they can give you some exercises that will help strengthen and realign the joints. Pilates based exercise is also fantastic. If you're sitting on the lounge at night put a pillow under your knees to take the strain of your lower back and sacral joints.
Good luck I hope it doesn't get too bad for you.

Gosh, I'm experiencing this already and I'm only 25 weeks! I had my first night of pelvis pain about a few weeks ago and another bad night last night. I actually had pain in my groin last night along with the pelvis pain so I'm a bit worried about SPD. Thankfully for me it's not a constant pain yet, just a couple of random nights of discomfort at this stage.

I've had A LOT of hip pain for months and it got so bad I couldn't handle it anymore. After being told 100 times by the doctors it's just normal pregnancy stuff and all I can do is live with it, I got some acupuncture done and although it didn't cure me, it's so much less painful. Maybe worth a shot?
