    waxing after birth

    Hi there,

Not really sure where to post this one??

Just wondering how soon after giving birth others have been waxed. I have always have a xxx brazillan (all off) and am desperate to get it done again. I had it done at 38 weeks but Olivia was 10days overdue and it's now nearly weeks since she was born and I really want all my hair gone!!!

Do I have to wait for my six week checkup? or is it ok to have it done before. I had a natural birth with an episiotomy (not sure how many stitches, but alot I think given forceps delivery and 38cm head)

    Any advice would be appreciated.

    thanks,

    Puggy

    Hey puggy

you would need to wait until your episiotomy healed completely...so at least 4-6wks...as it is still pretty delicate down there

hi i was in a similar situation with my DD though i had an emergency c-sect. i had a wax on EDD and then went 12 days over so by the time she was a couple of weeks old i couldn't wait to get one. My beautician asked me wait til my check up so my scar was healed enough etc i guess this would be the same as and epi. I got my wax at 6 wks but as my scar was still red and not 100% we jsut went around it!!

I would advise waiting until your six week check. I'm sure you dont want that scar to open up again

thanks for the advice, I will wait til I have my check up, definately don't want to make matter worse down there.....might just do the front bit so I don't have to look at it

I wasn't game to get a wax for a few months. It wasn't just the scar site that was sore but the skin around the whole area was very delicate - probably due to the stretching all over.
I got a bikini trimmer and trimmed up on the shortest setting for a while. Not quite the same but was better than being all bushy
