    Websters Technique

Has anyone had this done? I have set an appointment with a chiropractor for it and Im actually really excited. Not only is it supposed to help with turning breech babies, but it is supposed to help with pregnancu back pain and sleeping. Not to mention it is supposed to make your labor easier.

Has anyone had this done and it worked? or not worked? How did you feel afterwards?

Yep I had this done. 3 sessions and it didn't work re turning the baby. She realigned my hips and pubic bone. I didn't do the preggo waddle quite so much afterwards! But that was about it.

I ended up having an ecv to turn bub. Spinning babies stuff, moxa sticks, acupuncture etc all didn't work.

I have a history of preterm labour and was also planning a homebirth so we were trying anything to turn bub at the same time as hoping I'd get to 37 weeks! I had the ecv at 37 weeks and it was successful. I was all set for home birth Interestingly, we learned that the hospital would have supported a breech birth so at least the pressure of a cs wasn't there if nothing worked to turn her.

I hope the technique works for you. Let us know how you go

Oh.. And baby pretty much fell out in 43 mins. VERY easy labour no idea what to attribute that to tho lol.

This sounds good, I'll have to see if any of the chiros in northern Adelaide do it.

No but I do have prosterior babies, really bad back pain and can't sleep. I'm hoping it helps with that too.

Good idea! i am hoping to avoid having bub posterior this time too. (first have to work on getting bub head (or bum) down and not sideways)

I hear many positive things about it. Not only is my little one breech but shes footling breech in a bicornuate uterus..I REALLY need her to turn. I wil try this a couple sessions and if it doesnt work I will try accupuncture. A little nervous about trying ECV as Ive heard some scary stories about it though..

We were footling breech too. But that seemed to change each u/s. Nothing was engaged in my pelvis which prob ably helped the ecv be successful even tho they said it was low chance of success cos of her size. Pfft lol. ecv was fine btw.. Didn't hurt or anything.

32 weeks is still pretty early tho so don't stress too much just yet I'm sure something will work. Most bubs aren't as stubborn as mine lol.

Try and reduce stress too. 'they' say bubs can stay breech, close to mum's heart, if mum is stressed. I had a few stressful episodes during my pg.. So who knows. That might be true!

I had it three times with dd1 as she was posterior. She came out normal ways so it may have worked or maybe she was going to turn anyhow.

i have looked at some you tube videos on webster s technique and turning babies- it sounds like it is just adjusting the pelvis and then hoping the bub likes the better positioning to turn - is that right?

Yep..the theory behind it is that if your pelvis is restrained baby cant nestle into your pelvic region head down..so they go head up to be comfortable. Some people ligaments can be out of whack and if so the baby cant get comfy head down...
