Red face Some final (hopefully) questions (probably TMI too!!)

Hi girls....I have a couple of questions about various aches and pains!

Last night I had quite sharp pains in my bum .....the only way I could describe them was just like as if I had trapped wind...but restricted to my bum....not stomach pains. The pains were worst just after i stood up or sat down. Have had them a little today but not as much as last night.....anyone else have anything like this?

Also, when I'm going to the loo (for a pee) there's a sharp pain at the start, then it feels as if somehthing pops and the flow gets faster and the pain goes away. I've been getting this pain for about a week now.

I had my "show" when I got up this morning but nothing since then. I also had BH contractions last night about every 20 mins but not so much today.

    any thoughts would be appreciated!

Hi Kitz, I'm sorry, I don't really have any advice for you, but I do know that a heck of a lot of WEIRD things happen to your body when pregnant Especially towards the end.
Hopefully someone will be in here soon with some experience to share with you, but I just wanted to wish you all the best - its obviously not long to go now

    Hi Kitz,

I was just talking about this type of "pain in your bum" with a lady the other day, the way I describe it is it feels like if you could just do a big F**t it would feel so much better LOL. I do remember having a simular poping sensation sometimes when weeing but I don't remember it being painful.
It would be interesting to hear a medical explaination for what is going on. Hopefilly someone will come up with some answers.

Not long now for you, best wishes for a great birthing experience.

    Hi Kitz
I’m not 100% sure but I think that the pain in your bum is caused by your baby’s head compressing your bowel and slowing down the passage of stools and wind. This is not unusual if your baby is low or engaged.
The pain when you go for a pee is caused by a slight kink in your urethra. This kink is caused by your uterus pressing down on your bladder. To help relieve you could go to the toilet before your bladder is full. Also be aware that pain when going to the toilet could be a sign of a UTI, however pain caused by this problem usually lasts all the time that urine is flowing.
