Red face Definate TMI.. toilet related ;)

I am so embarassed to be posting this, but i have no one else to ask...

The last 2-3 days i have had increased bowl movements, i've gone from being blocked up, to going like 3 times a day.
    What does this mean??
    Should i be worried?
I don't remeber having anything like this with DS, and don't really have any other symptoms to suggest a tummy bug.
    What should i do?

    TIA

    Just a few questions...
have you changed your diet at all lately?
Are you getting any other symptoms like BH's or a sore back?

I know when I was that far along sometimes I would be blocked up but other times it was going all the time.

hopefully it is nothing, and it is just your pregnant body playing games!

I have experienced the same thing in the last week or so. Gone from feeling like I needed to go but couldn't to having quite a lot of movement. How far along are you? I have read in a few places that it could just be your body preparing for the birth.

with DD1, when this happened to me it signalled I wasn't far off birth. I've had it happen again myself this week going from constant constipation for the last 6 months or more to suddenly going at minimum 2 or 3 times daily for the last 3 or 4 days. Hoping it's a sign that the end is near based on my own previous experience but who knows! Good luck!

Yes!! Some days I don't go at all, somedays it's two days in a row..then yesterday I'm sitting in Epping Plaza just tucking into a nice quiche with my inlaws when all of a sudden my colon decided to have a fit. I had to gallop sideways in a very pregnant way (trying not to frown or look like I was on a mission) all the way down the other end of the plaza in agony with my pelvic girdle pain to get to the toilet as I knew it was going to be one of those pressurized torpedos that no amount of wriggling or meditating in my seat was going to stop. I made it..just. Then when I got home, same thing! Today back to normal no sign of any sudden torpedos, of course that'd be right.

I do remember with my son however, that I had the runs overnight and the next day I went into labour. But yesterday I put it down to a punch in the colon from she who shall soon be named

Linzy, love your comment re shopping on tuesdays. Cracks me up! And the description of your episode in Epping plaza... I haven't been caught out (as in out of the house) with that problem but I have had it at home and can imagine the trauma it would cause if I was out and about and struck with such an incredible urge!

totally normal in my experience.. Baby does the bulk of the growing in the last few weeks. Every precious inch of space is taken up, so it takes less food and fluid to make you feel the need to go... Its not that there is anything wrong with you, just think of it like someone shrunk your garbage bin. You need to empty it more often.

Dunno where I heard that quote about the shopping but it cracked me up, I've even googled it and can't find it! And Epping plaza I have only been to 3 times so finding the toilet was a mission also! Who's idea is it to place toilets ALL the way down the ends of the malls?!

you ladies have put a smile on face Especially Linzy your epping plaza story!
Thankful i haven't yet had that happen to me, i've luckily been home on all occasions.
Thank you all, i feel alot better knowing that it is kinda normal. being 34 weeks, I just hope it's the baby just getting bigger and i'm running out of room - rather than a sign that labour is approaching!

You ladies are hilarious!! Actually am a little envious still being in the phase of pregnancy induced having to precariously balance and squat on my damn toilet seat at times to try and force something out But was just going to say, has it been hot where you are? And have you been swelling with fluid?? Sometimes the body gets rid of excess fluid and causes a sudden increase in bowell movements, even the trots and with all that extra fluid we can suddenly retain overnight in pregnancy it could just be that.

There is this great website for "side slice" images of the stages of development. I found it by goggling 40 weeks pregnant and going to images, it was the first one that popped up. It shows your insides before pregnancy, and then over the stages during pregnancy. There is one for 36 weeks.

Check it out because it is really very eye opening on just how little room is left for you inside your body.
