Hey me again with another question lol With my dd my waters just gushed out so I am very unfamiliar with the whole trickling effect, can anyone who had the slow trickle shed some light on this please as I find it very confusing to judge it!
TIA
well for me ...I did a pee, then i stood up and did some drips on my leg and the floor. so i sat down again thinking there was more pee... but no... so i stood up again and more trickled out on the floor. so i sat down and tried to pee again... no... then thought hhhmmm maybe... (less than a teaspoon each time)
wasnt sure cos first time was like niagra falls for me... but was on my way to the doc anyway so just asked him when i got there.
I had similar when i was having the twins i got out the shower (luckily was at the hospital) was drying myself and water trickled down my leg i also thought it was me wetting my self but looked down to see it was clear. With the trickle it seemed to keep going longer than a wee ever would.. because the twins were in seperate sacks after twin 1 was born my 2 sak burst so i felt both trickle and gush...
Mine was really odd. I walked into the loungeroom & got a trickle, sat on the lounge & had another, then every time I changed position I would get another mini gush! This started at 10pm with no contractions and continued all the way up until I was in full on labour.
Hi Girls
Weather you get a gush or a trickle depends somewhat on the position of your baby. If your baby is low with the head well applied then the head stops the majority of the water from flowing, you will only lose the water that is in front of the baby’s head. If you or your baby moves then this will allow some of the water to flow past the baby’s head and thus you get another trickle or even a small gush. To explain this further, imagine that the baby’s head is the bath plug and your cervix is the plug hole. Move the plug a little and some water escapes move the plug a lot and a lot more water escapes. Obviously other things can play a part into the amount of fluid that you lose initially but the reason above would be the most common.
I got out of the bath and just kept leaking!! It was slow but I knew it was not just bath water, it continued slowly for the whole day. After about 5 mins I knew it was probably my waters, so I rang the hospital and went in for testing and was right. They just said I had 72 hours until I had to be induced (luckily she came that night).
I was at the hospital and around 1 am I felt a kind of soft pop and a small trickly, I told the midwife and she told me my waters hadn't broken, when they had, the was a wet patch on the bed and a slow trickle, ds1's head was so low down that it was blocking the way! She later (6am!) said oh your waters have broken! I was like I KNOW!!!
