    why? braxton hicks qns

would anyone have an idea why i would be experienceing the majority of my braxton hicks during the night/ early morning? and they seem to be quite intense and period like after i have been up to the loo to wee duirng the night? it is really wierd. i get a few during the day but not like ihave been getting them overnight. they are just braxton hicks too cause there is no regularity to em or anything, though they are starting to hurt a bit!

I have the same thing, it was so bad last night I was almost crying, it's also very frustrating, you just kind of think bring on the real thing already lol I find it eases up when I get on my hands and knees, and I think some of it could be pre-labour anyway, seeing as how far along you are too maybe it's a bit of pre-labour for you as well??

I have been experiencing the exact same thing.

the last 10 days every few nights Ive been waking up and unable to get back to sleep for a number of hours ...I even started resorting to a heat pack and wandering about the house!

One morning , which was last Saturday I was kind of a bit frustrated and unsure what was going on that I even called my midwife. Just as quick as I spoke with her the BH's settled down.

In my last pregnancy my waters broke first so I knew it was all systems go then!(and that was 10 days early or so)

*sigh* just goes to show every baby is different I guess and it isn't up to us to decide when he/she arrives!

Not sure about BHs, but it is common to experience pre-labour in the night hours. I've heard that in the context of there being a quiet, dark, relaxed environment. (Which is why lots of people suggest dim lighting for when you are in labour. Sometimes bright lights and lots of noise can make labour stop or slow down, which happens to some women when they arrive at the hospy.)
I personally started pre-labouring overnight, and I'm pretty sure that's common.
Probably it is your body feeling like it is a 'safe' time to get itself into gear! All the best - not long to go now!

my ob mentioned BH to me very early on - basically said every time you move from being in one spot, your uterus contracts - even when not pg - you just don't notice it when not pg, or very early in pg. when you get larger from pg, and move suddenly from being in same position for ages (as you do when you wake up to go to the loo at night) the BH will be more noticable. it's possible that first movement starts them cos your body is relaxed, and then they keep going

i'm noticing tightenings when i get up from sitting for too long, or when i go to the loo in the middle of the night - thankfully, at this point they're not painful - but definitely there - and it takes a while to get comfy again afterwards...

i had the most intense pain last night -like really really strong period like pains a couple of times, it was so sore for a couple of minutes i could hardly breath. I was thinking wether they were the real thing, but then it stopped. Could be pre-labour? Im 37 wks and 3 days btw

Ok Im no doctor... but from my experience...

BH start when moving around, walking, etc an settle when you sit down and take it easy. Can start as early as 16 weeks. are very irregular.

Prelabour starts when you are sitting down and relaxed. Can start a couple of weeks before the birth. May not get regular until full on labour.

but thats just how its been for me. HTH.

With DD1 I had BH only at night from 9pm till midnight and during the day when I was really tired. In the week leading up to her birth I had realy intense BH that started from 6pm and went till midnight until the night I went into labour my waters broke at midnight and I stayed in labour.

have been having cramps since 4.30am this morning, but they were irregular cramps and they range in intenseness? dont really know if its the real thing or not. Should i call my obs to ask? or this is a normal prelabour sign? Im 38wks and 2days btw

Not sure TBH, bubbles. Maybe give your OB a call? I would think that irregular contractions are a really good pre-labour sign - your body is getting ready for labour, cervix is ripening etc.
I'd be asking about the brown discharge. Perhaps it is part of your show? But I don't know, which is why I'd be asking. A phone call should do it Good luck!
