Question Parents of children in private schools

Have you ever had to take your children out of school during the term for leave of any kind?

If yes, what did the school say? Did they allow you to take your child out and for how long were they off school?

    TIA

    Hi Alibaby,

I'm not too sure what type of leave you mean - but DD has had time off for a range of reasons. Personal family matters, which was a week. The school said nothing - You should provide some sort of explanation to the school. Thats all we did.

I guess if the school has some reason to be curious as to why there was so much time off school there may be issues? Other than that - as long as the school are notified and it is a justifiable reason, there shouldnt be an issue

We took both the boys out for 2 weeks last year so we could go to QLD. They took books so they could write a journal of sorts whilst we were away....they never did it far to exciting.
The school were absolutely fine with it and actually wished us a great time away

What do you think they would say for 2 children in primary school taking leave for a family members wedding for 3 or 4 days?

I work in a public primary school and we have kids go on leave all the time with no dramas but I keep hearing private schools are very against children going on leave (which I dont really believe to be honest).

I doubt the school would have issues with the kids going away for 3-4 days! Too bad if they did, what are they going to do??

Its not like your children dont attend school on a normal regular basis.

MissM- That is what I think as well. And they will be in primary school. Its not like they are doing their HSC!

    Thanks for your advice.
