Received the worst call from DS's High School

Asking me if DS was at home sick. No he left for school at 8.30 and we only live 5min from school. He has never wagged or been in trouble at school so I thought the worst. She said she would go and check his class and call me back. Well 5min felt like 5hrs, I was literally shaking and felt so sick. She calls back and tells me DS is not at school, well my voice starts breaking up knew something wasn't right. DH walks to the school the way DS goes and I ring the police, I didn't know what to do. They take some details and tell me they will send a van around. I then ring our local hospital, he's not there thank goodness. I ring a few parents I know, they knew nothing. DH isn't back yet, police havn't arrived and I'm pacing the kitchen floor. Half an hour later DH comes back, DS is at school, what relief. Apparently his friend he met on the way to school was sick so he walked him home and then turned up at school. I wish he wouldn't scare me like this. Just so grateful he was found, it is such an awful terrible feeling to think something has happened to your child.

    Regards,
    Dianne
