Start Day for NSW Year 1 Children ??

I am just about to book some appointments so need to know what day the children start school. Do they start on Wednesday 27th or Thursday 28th. I know the school term starts on the Wednesday but I think this is a pupil free day. Am I right???

Schools go back on the 27th is my understanding. Some schools have thier pupil free day on the first day back and some on the last day of term.
Is there another parent from school you can also check with?

I checked my school term info, and the first day is Thurs 28.

My DD starts kindy, but she doesn't start until 2 Feb....

Thanks for your replies. I think for the Eastern Division (which is me) they go back on the 28th. All the best Aliash with DD starting Kindy.

I teach in Sydney.
Teachers go back on the Wednesday and students return on the Thursday.

Maybe check out your school website or there might be a message on your schools notice board (out the front of the school) if you want to double check
