I don't think I'll cry, DD1 is soooo looking forward to going & she is only doing a half day so it will be almost the same as sending her to Kinder for the day.
I can't believe how quickly the time goes, feels like she is still my little baby but it's such a joy to watch her grow into this beautiful, smart, strong willed & stubborn little lady.
Another that is excited. I think I'd be a bit more in the other camp if DS hadn't have been doing pre-prep at the school last year! I was a mess his first day of pre-prep :(
Have now got everything except a couple more shirts which I'll grab on the first day :)
How are the first day's shaping up?
DS1 started today. He appeared to be very cruisey about starting school. But I think he had a few butterflies - he was quieter than normal. Once he was in his uniforrm, I must admit I had a little lump in my throat but ultimately there were no tears from either of us as we said "bye". He says he's looking forward to going back, so that's great. His teacher is wonderful - she seems very nurturing, gentle and all round nice.
All happy in this household :)
DD started today, she couldn't wait and was so very excited. There were no tears from any of the children, I'm not sure how I'm feeling, excited but sad at the same time, my last baby has started school.

We had our best start interview today & DD1 starts Monday.
She can't wait!
DS1 started on Tuesday, he was so excited and is loving it so far, apart from a small incident yesterday where he was sent out of the classroom for throwig a little tanty. Yes, my son was sent out on the second day of school! So not impressed.
We had a big talk last night about acceptable behaviour and the fact that if he gets in to trouble at school he will also be punished at home. Hopefully today is a better day.
I had a cry when I was getting his uniform ready the night before his first day, but no tears at drop off, I was proud of myself!
That sounds like something my daughter would/will do.
Did you ladies arrive early to find a parking spot & make sure they were ok etc... or did you arrive a few mins before class started?
We got there about 10 minutes before the bell, got him settled in to class, spoke with the teacher etc. I stayed for another 10 mins after the bell as well, most of the parents did the same :)
We were given times according to which kinder they came from as there is a big intake so we were told 9.30 but we got the around 9.15 to take photos and not rush dd, we got her settled which didn't take long and left.
DS2 had his first day today and he really enjoyed it :). He was so surprised and excited when I told him he gets to go back tomorrow lol! I wonder what he thought would happen?
His start was at 9:05am. DH took the morning off to come along which was awesome. We dropped DS1 into his new Grade 3 classroom first (8:50am start), caught up with some parents and then realised we only had minutes to spare to take DS2 on time - whoops! They took our photo (DD got to be in it too) and he settled into drawing and pasting because he'd promised me he'd make me a present on his first day - nawww...
He is pretty tired now. I remember when DS1 had his first day of school, he came home full of beans, jumping on the trampoline, riding his bike, etc. It was just a normal day for him hahaha! He does have ADHD so I guess it makes sense in hindsight lol!

DD had a great first day, she got lost at recess lol but overall is loving school and can't wait for tomorrow.

DD had a great first day on Wednesday. She played hide and seek with 2 other little girls and their buddies, went to the i-centre and wrote her name on the computer and made a fish hat. Presumably other stuff, but that's all we've heard.
We are walking distance, so just headed over at 9:30 which was her allocated time and she went straight in - I actually had to call her back for a cuddle!
She had her Best Start assessment this morning - 'bright, happy and confident, she will do well' is what her teacher said. So all good. Looking forward to next week when she can really get into it and meet some more of the kiddies.
So good to hear about all the Poppets settling in! DD started on Wednesday and is loving it! Was upset today because she wants to go to school tomorrow hahah!!!!! Made a few little friends and learned about the letter S so far. Cute cute and the most important thing is she is happy and the school and parents are gorgeous! Was worried as we are newcomers to a small town with somewhat transient numbers so wasnt sure if people would be friendly!!!!
Ok, DD1 starts tomorrow. She had her best start on friday and was a little let down to find out she wasnt staying for the whole day. So needless to say she is excited. I am too for her. A little bummed (ok so a bit more than a little) that she got the one teacher that we didnt want her to have, but I am trying hard to keep the positives going and am saying nothing around DD1 about our thoughts on her teacher.
Im not so sure if Im going to be a crier. I think they will be happy tears if there are any though. We went shopping today for her recess and lunch supplies. She thought that was pretty special in itself let alone anything else.
DD1 has a fairy door in her room so the fairies can come in and visit her at night. Sometimes they give each other gifts, and she draws them pictures and writes letters to them. Well tonight the fairies are leaving her some coloured pencils and some fairy erasers to wish her luck tomorrow. Im pretty sure that will help her get through the day though.
Ive been reading along, so happy that all the kiddies are settling in well and enjoying their schooling experience. Its helping my confidence grow when it comes to this next great big step. xo
My youngest is due to start tomorrow and I'm having a real crisis of identity.
If I'm a sahm, but there are no little ones at home I become... what? A housekeeper?
I'm already domestically challenged, and now the biggest perk - having my babies with me, knowing them better than anyone... It feels like its all going to be gone.
I know it sounds ridiculous and dramatic, but I'm not so good when I don't know what to expect, what comes next, and just now I'm a little weepy (although not around Ds).
Dp is a little shocked at my reaction. You'd think he'd know me by now
DD1 starts school tomorrow too! I am quite excited for her but am a little teary that she won't be home with me as much. However, I'll get to spend more time with DD2 and do somethings for myself as I won't have to entertain DD1. DH is taking the day off, which will be a great help to me and I'll feel ok on Tuesday when I have to do it all alone. My mum is also coming in the morning to see DD1 off.
I still class you as a SAHM. You still have to look after the kids even if they are at school for most of the day. Perhaps this is time for yourself now? ((hugs)):
Our turn is finally here as well, DD1 is super excited.
We have all her uniform & shoes all set out. She even told she wanted a cheese & mushroom sandwich tomorrow because that's what big girls eat.
My big baby is growing up way too fast.
Just a question on the best start assessment, did everyone get feed back? We didn't, another mum and child had already entered the room as we were finishing. Also Dd was only there for 25 minutes and a mother lady I know her daughter was here for 40. I over heard the maths part and she answered everything I couldn't hear the other part so not sur show that went. The other person I know who said her daughter took 40 minutes is quiet shy so I am not sure if that had anything to do with it or not. I'm trying not to let my brain run away with 'why' DD was only there for 25 minutes, Daycare have always said she is bright and will have no trouble but I'm just wondering....
