Victorian Teachers - Name of Phonics System

    Hi guys,

I'm after the name of the phonics system taught in some Victorian schools.

It uses a "rap song" that help the children to sound out letters as well as sound groups.

    TIA!

Ah we use THRASS here in QLD too. It's designed for middle to upper primary, but a lot of schools introduce it at prep (there are two strong and opposing views on early introduction, by the way )

DD did it in prep, and I actually helped the teachers with it. It was great, wasn't hot housing in any way the kids LOVED it and thought it was a blast. TBH it's no different than any other phonics system. Maybe our school did an lesser version but it certainly wasn't bad in any way.

Onyx, at our school they still use Jolly Phonics in Kindergarten (early stage 1) and then once they are in year 1 (stage 1) they start using THRASS.
