    Thats NOT her NAME

Ok I just went to a prep morning at DD school to be next year.... We were told to find your childs name and go to that area....

So I look, I look again nope cant see it.... We have a VERY popluar last name so sometimes it can be hard....

There was a Mikela there with our last name but no MAYLEAKA.... So I go I tell them that I cant find her name, the teacher looks and tells me it right here Mikela... I say thats not her name he laughs and says that they were all taking about her name the other day, and sends us on our way....

I get to her group and tell them that they have spelt her name wrong that her name is MAYLEAKA and not MIKELA she tells me that they were only saying the other day what a nice name she has when someone said no her name is NOT MAYLEAKA its MIKELA so they CHANGED the spelling of her NAME....

Now I ask you why would I have spelt her name MAYLEAKA on her enrolement forms if her name was MIKELA....

I told the teaher no i selpt her name the way you say it for a reason so no one could get it WRONG MAY LEA KA I didnt think it was that hard......

    Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr schools!!!!!

Yup I'm expecting this when my kids go to school.

At DS's daycare there is one carer that just does not call him his name - calls him Harrison - even though Aricyn is written on everything!!!

Ahhh welll can't help all the idiots in the world

How rude! Why would you mis-spell your own childs name?

I get really frustrated when people put the wrong name. My name plate at my old job had my name spelt wrong so they had to re-make it (but fancy spelling someones name wrong like that?)

Something similar happened to me at school too where it was my first year at a new school and I had enrolled under my correct name and everything. Anyhow, I went to the classroom and the teacher was calling the roll and kept on saying "do we have a Katrina? Who's Katrina?" Being new to the school, I didnt know many people and for all I knew there could have been a Katrina in the class.. so I didnt respond. My name never got called so I asked the teacher to add my name to the list. She's like "oh its already here, see KATRINA" and she didnt believe me when I was telling her thats not actually my name and that they had probably done a typo (she was telling me "no, they didnt do a typo, thats your name"). So I ended up having to get it changed on all the school roles as they had Katrina on all of them , instead of Karina. Stupid idiots! Why would I have mis-spelt my own name??

I know it hard with all the different names around now but you would think they would get used to it by now... I wouldnt have care so much if they just didnt say her name right but to change it completly! thats what floored me... Her last school only call her MAY and this is what they had on all her enrolment forms instead of her full name ( the girls behind the desk must be real idiots!!! ) but I just left it as I knew we were moving... Even thought it really ****ed me off that when she was trying to right her full name on her art work they didnt help her just left it as she got the MAY part right instead of helping her with the full spelling ( maybe the teacher just didnt know how to spell it even though I told her a few times...)

I used to get and still do get Natalie ALL the time which isnt my name and even at doctors I too just sit there as I never know if there is a Natalia sitting there.... LOL so i must look a bit slow as i always take ages... But then I always say in a voice so others can hear " Did you mean Natalia " which of course they look again and realise there mistake.... The other one I always get is Natalie A its like they read my name then realise as they get to the end it has a A and not a E at the end... LOL for two names that are spelt almost the same they sound completly different....

All I can say is they better have it right by the next time I am there....

Just see the secretary at the school, take her birth cert in case and say that when you went the other day you noticed that her name was misspelt and wanted to make sure it was correct on her forms. She is the best person to nip this in the bud as she is the one who does the main paperwork for new enrollments. It also wont hurt to see the teacher and let her know how to say her name as sometimes when you don't know how to say a name you will get it wrong until enlightened.
