with the warm weather coming early the geckos have come out and they always into our house I am wanting to know how can you get rid of them or what can do you to make your house uninviting to them DW hates them wish a passion and i find them annoying.

they poo everywhere eewwwlll... i hate that and they are unpredictable. 1 gecko fine but try up to 20 in summer and trying to sleep while there being noisey :(:

Not sure how you'd get rid of them- sticky tape around doors and windows with the sticky bit outwards and then they get suck?? haha I have no idea!
Surely the benefits outway the cons?
But to answer the question, maybe try to eliminate their prey and they may not be so attracted to inside the house.
agreed im a bit over yucked out by them:
I was bitten by a blue tounge lizzard as a child and it latched on to ankle and would not let go as a child. did not hurt but soooooo grose and scary for a young girl.
and the poop sticks to the walls its grose and yucky and i hate it on my photo's.
I had no idea they were a problem until we went to QLD earlier this year. I woke up one morning to find one on the bedroom wall. I freaked out becuase I'd never seen one before! They are so cute though.
whats thier prey? flies and moths there all out side i think they come in to the cooler air. we dont normally have flys or moths inside i hate fly poop too hehe:
just googled how to get rid of them, and they suggest spraying a dettol mix around. HTH
havnt tried that, i have tried a chillie solution but that didnt work :( would rather non toxic way:
I didnt realise they were a problem anywhere! We get the odd one in really hot weather but I just feel really worried that it will get stuck inside and die. Can't imagine them on the walls!!!
Maybe use a spray bottle with eucalyptus oil or tea tree oil in it. they are both quite strong smells but not chemically. they can be toxic if consumed though... What about citronella? or orange oil in a spray bottle?
i do have tea tree oil already made up kids use it as a preventative for lice, would this stain the walls they are wood or the paint? we rent.:
I'd probably avoid putting it directly on the walls... How do they get in do you think?? Air vents? Maybe spray in there... Also window and door frames and sills... Not sure.
Send them here - I miss them :) Our old house had heaps and here we hardly see them.
I imagine the oil may make a wet looking spot if the timber was really dry and unvarnished.
I use a spray bottle with eucalyptus and water for my enjo floor cleaner (spray and mop over) and I havent noticed any marks on furniture it blows onto.
Perhaps make the solution pretty weak.
Could you dampen a towell or cloth with the solution and lay it at teh doorways where they get it? Rather than spray the walls I mean.
Send them to me. I love chi-chas. They're such helpful little guys, I love watching them munching up all the insects in summer. They're just about the only thing I miss about the tropics.
