I know its part of being a good mother..
but I can't stand it.
Cooking with my kids that is.
I just cannot stand it. It raises my blood pressure. We just cooked some biscuits before and it ended with DD1 being banned from the kitchen. All I seem to do is yell at them because they are crapping me off with the crap that they pull in the kitchen.
Some lovely examples from today's experience:
1. A fight broke out, pushing and shoving and squealing over chairs. There's two of them, two chairs, not difficult to work out kids come on! Its not musical chairs either, just pick a chair and stick to it.
2. Some drumming was done on the ingredients, right after I had moved them all out of the way they were moved back, in the way of the bowl, and I've only got a small bench. Just leave them where they are.
3. As soon as I turned my back, DD1 stuck her hands in the bowl that we had just put the sifted flour in - on top of the creamed butter and sugar. Just LEAVE it alone.
4. Measuring out milk (tablespoon) with my shaky, high blood pressure about to blow hands - and I cop a karate chop on the wrist. *Sigh*
Why can't it just be a pleasurable experience? Why can't they just do as they are told? Why can't they just leave stuff alone when asked to?!
ARgghhghghghghgh :wall:
Yes, yes I should have more patience, I'm a bad mother, blah blah blah... :p
