Colic or an intolerance to something??
DD is almost 6 weeks old and for the last 3 weeks we have been dealing with a lot of unsettledness of an evening. It could last for hours where there is practicly nothing DH or I can do to ease her.
She is BF on demand and so far barely makes it past 2 hourly feeds. She doesn't really seem to have a good couple of hours sleep and hasn't since birth. (except for last night after an exhausting few hours she slept next to me from 10ish - 4am!!) She does wake sometimes to burp, fill her nappy and then fall back to sleep in my arms. Her weight gain is plentiful there are no issues there. She doesn't seem to be windy and doesn't really bring up much of a feed at all. Although sometimes i can here her swallowing a bit through her screams and she sometimes wakes at night and i can here her bring up a some juices.
She seems to be experiencing this much more often and extremely compared to anything my boys ever did. Third time around you'd like to think we're able to deal with these things without too much distress but we're struggling. She can have the calmest of calm days where she feeds and sleeps without an issue then hit 6pm and it begins. She's like a different child in excruciating pain and screams so much her throat becomes croaky. Plus tonight she actually had tears in her eyes :crying:
Does this sound like Colic or an intolerance to somethng i'm eating? I have spoken to the MCHN and she assures me it's 'normal' but i can't continue to just asume it is and do nothing to try and help her. I think i'm going to try and cut out wheat and dairy and see if there is any improvement.
Also from reading a couple of other threads i may try and take her to an osteo or chiro. Which is better? What is the difference?
Any other suggestions?
I know there are many questions in one post but i barely get a chance to sit here these days and have been trying desperately to get on here to ask.
TIA ladies i just wish there was a quick fix for something that seems to be really upsetting her. It can't be nothing right???
