Not agreeing to cancel a transaction on ebay, am i being rude???

So i won a stokke xplory on ebay for $360 & she claims that her friend was trying to put a buy it now in and it didnt work & ended the auction making me the winner, she put in a claim to cancel the transaction, i declined, I want that pram!!!

You can try putting a dispute in with eBay and see what happens. I thought that when you list the item is when you put those details? I think though that you can add a "buy it now" later... but not entirely sure. Either way, I think that if she doesn't want to honour it that it needs to go through dispute and that she shouldn't be able to sell it to someone else, however don't think that she won't cos eBay can't "hold" the item cos they don't have it.

Subbing because the same thing happened to me yesterday- the seller just cancelled my bid!? I was the only one interested in a sewing machine and had bid $12- a steal, I know, but I didn't know they could cancel a bid if it wasn't up to your liking...

im not sure krystals, i actually won this auction so according to ebay shes in a legally binding contract and has to supply the goods but we will see

So the auction ended before it was meant to? Or it ended at the correct time?

I think what they have done is changed the listing time meaning it ended earlier but still on time if that makes sense, im not sure what she means, bottom line is I won the auction!!

krystals, same advice... put in a dispute. They can't just cancel your bid because they don't like what it's going for. If they want at least a certain amount then they should list it with a reserve!!

RD... if it's their stuff up, then I think that ethically they should honour it, but hell who knows with some people! Send a dispute asap and get eBay onto it.

It sounds to me like she is making an excuse, either she wants more money or has found someone else to sell it to. She should come up with a better lie, you list "but it now" when putting the item up for sale and it is all easy to do.....you can't really stuff it up. Once it's up for sale it's up for sale, she would know that.

That being said, have you paid? She has the item still, she doesn't have to give it to you. She will have to be prepared to receive negative feedback and my get banned for a bit or just receive negative points and feedback. But at the end of the day she doesn't have to give it to you IYKWIM (even though she should).

Ok, I get ya :) You can dispute it and not let her cancel the transaction...but I suppose eBay still can't MAKE her sell it to you. You can give her bad feedback though, and eBay may close her account.

I might try and come to an agreement with her, it comes with things i dont need like the bassinette & an isoki nappy bag i would be happy for her to keep those & sell them again...what do you think?

I agree with Erin, she either wants a certain amount or has found someone who has offered her an amount so she needs to change it to buy it now so they can buy it. Mind you, you're not supposed to do this either! If you list as auction, you're supposed to let it run it's course, that's just how it is. I don't think she's going to come to an agreement... to be honest, I would skip that and lodge a complaint and dispute.

Perhaps we can come to an agreement, I have spoken to live help on ebay & they said we are both in a legal binding contract to commit to the purchase but i realise its not the amount you would have hoped for, im happy to pay that & for you to keep the bassinette. Im just waiting on my bugaboo camelson to sell and i can make payment! Let me know what you think?

You can put in a dispute and try to claim it, but at the end of the day, if she sells it to someone else, there is no pram to fight over. I hope she honours the sale for you, but really, it's only legally binding if you intend on pursuing it through the legal system.

shes the 3rd seller in 4 days to do this to me the others were off gumtree though, they both had better offers and sold after saying i could buy it and me organising people to pick up and courier!!

That really sucks! The agreement is worth a try if you really want the pram though. Let us know what happens :)

Wow RD- Sorry, I hadn't realised you'd actually won at the finish of an auction! I'd try the agreement, and then dispute... that's terrible form on their part!
