The fashion at the moment....(A vent!).

...is awful!! It so totally just doesn't suit me at all and I really don't like anything that's out at the moment. It's horrible! I recieved a fair bit of money for my birthday recently and have been trying to find some nice clothes.

Besides the fact that I am fatter than I have ever been and trying on clothes is torturous for me right now because I'm in between size 16 and 18 (ie, 'normal' sizes and 'larger' sizes). I swear I tried on every form of tops and pants fathomable and only came home with some (MORE!) black tights and a pair of tracky dacks (so stylish!) and some jeggings. Tops....gosh what another nightmare for me, only two plain tops....how depressing! I couldn't even find a good pair of jeans :(

I am with you there... and I am the same size, so it is super frustrating... My thighs/hips are an 18, my waist is a 16, so pants are a nightmare... I am still wearing the 2 skirts I found when I was pregnant :redface: They are the comfiest things I can find that fit me.

I know what you mean! Any clothes 'designed' for larger women are just horrific and make you look far bigger than you really are. There is nothing for plus size women that looks stylish with a decent cut.

Have you tried autograph jeans? Quite stylish.
Or I like the ultimate jeans from katies- elastic waistband, so no muffin top.
I have 1 pair of jeans from city chic- but there a little too skinny in the leg for my liking.

Yep ill join the club too. I have to wear shapewear to suck in some fat so i can wear nice clothes so i atleast have some shape. I spent about $100 on clothes from kmart. I got some really nice tops and wear them with leggings and jeans. I found the most awesome pair of jeans from kmart too! usually the clothes there look hideous on me but nope they look really good and actually cover my love handles and bum.

Do you have a city chic near you? they are very stylish clothes for us curvy gals :D

I have skinny legs, a bigger belly and no bum. So pants just fall off if I buy ones that fit my waist. And if i buy smaller ones, I just get a huge muffin top spilling over the sides. Ewww. Tights are my friend :D

In the same here. Can be a real struggle most of the time, but can then a bonus at occasionally. At Target being 16-18 means I have 2 clothing ranges to pick from, the normal and Moda. I find the Target jeans to be pretty good, just have to remember to grab short length. I want to try on the Autograph ones, but don't want all that embroidery on the back pockets (yes my bum is big, let's not highlight it with bling). I have been told that Autograph now have a younger buyer, so more clothes should more our age group than for the over 60 market.

Struggling with pantyhose at the moment. To big for normal and too small for the plus sizes.

Have you tried Target's 'my boyfriends' jeans? I am a 14 usually in jeans, big bum/thighs and smaller size 12 waist and I comfortably fit a 12 in these as they have a baggier seat and thighs.
I am finding I like the Big W new range of ladies clothing at the moment, but for the life of me can't recal the name!

Glad it's not just me then!! I am living in black tights and longish tops/cardi's at the moment. I dread summer because I have no tshirts, skirts or shorts. I'm going to melt if I have to wear tights or tracky all summer!

I am the same. My shape has totally changed since having kids. My thighs and bum are a 16, my tummy and hips are an 18 and my waist and underbust are 14-16. So totally out of proportion! I am also still wearing a long skirt I wore through pregnancy....all 3 of my pg's agtually. Now that is embarrassing!

I find the 'plus' sizes so much bigger than the 'normal' sizes. As in size 16 on a rack of 'normal' sized clothes is so much smaller than a 16 on a 'plus' sized rack! I'm in between all of it!

I luurrrve shapewear!!! It's the only thing that saves my muffin top and love handles from spilling over my pants, well those which I can do up over my mummy tummy that is! I tried kmart, I got a few things there, nothing that is really nice though. No city chic, we live remote and can only buy things from actual shops when we travel 3hours or more to town. Or I can buy online, though I haven't been brave enough to get clothes yet, as I need to try stuff on being so disproportionate!

I tried target too, but only got some basics. I can usually depend on target to come up with the goods, but this time, I got nothin'! I tried a few pairs of jeans on, but couldn't do them up properly, and got depressed at the Moda stuff, it just didn't sit right on me. I was almost in tears walking out of target, those change room mirrors are terrible!!! I soooo don't need to see my butt from 1000 different angles! And thank goodness I don't need to worry about pantyhose, being a SAHM I would go batty I think!

I didn't try the boyfriend jeans. I saw them and decided my butt and thinghs looked big enough as it was without adding baggy denim to them, lol! But I will give them a go next time we go there.

I'm a fan of Regatta for jeans (I got mine from Myer). I'm just devestated I can't get a second pair of the jean I have at the moment!

I struggle to find good clothes. I am not a fan of City Chic as I find the clothes ill fitting (especially jeans!). I find My Size to be aimed at an older generation. Autograph are a bit hit and miss. I am very choosy there as I have bought tops from there that have seriously lost shape after a few washes. Yet I have a shirt from there that I LOVE and have got some great pants for work from there as well.

Check out the range at Wind and Water website. Australian made and owned, by a lovely lady named Irene. She's based in Brisbane. Fabulous clothes. Jut a word of warning, none of my orders have ever been straight forward, but once you have the clothes, they are wonderful and make you feel very you :) My faves are the Grace Pants and the corset frock.

They are exxy myer brand but i have become a fan.
I generally have to buy a few bits and pieces to make an outfit look complete but i do feel good buying items from there
I have been able to wear all my TS clothes while pregnant too.
I hate not being able to get good plus size maternity wear! Particularly now looking for appropriate BF clothes that are $60 a piece *sigh*
(FWIW i am an 18 in the hips but need a 24-26 in the top so clothing for me is a nightmare too!)
