Why is he spewing at grannies

My mum has DS1 every Tuesday night so DH and I can have a date night which is awesome, DS is a wicked sleeper and has no qualms in letting us no when he's tired, but for the last 5 or so weeks whenever he's put to bed at my mums he spews, not just a little, I'm talking everything he's eaten that day. The thing is it's not like he's protesting about going to sleep because when he starts to get grumpy my mum asks if he's ready for nun nighs and he nods and runs to the stair gate, so she takes him to the cot and he lays down happily for a few minutes and then starts screaming and when mum goes to check he's power chucked everywhere, and the even weirder thing is as soon as he's changed and the room is clean he's more than happy to go to sleep. I'm completely at a loss as to why he's doing this, he doesn't do it at home, he knows my mum and sister very well and loves them to bits, and they don't feed him anything that we don't feed him at home, can anyone shed light on what it might be?

Eating too much? I can't see how old your DS is but could they be too rough with him?

Can your mum stay with him til he goes to sleep, to see if there is a reason for the spew?

Sorry, no advice, but I just had to say, this thread title made me LOL cause I pictured this little boy, wherever he happened to be, seeing a random 'granny' (ie, any granny, not necessarily just his) and throwing up at her! And for all random 'grannies' :D

He's 15 months old and if anything he's to rough with them lol he's definately a boisterous boy!

He's also a bit of a fussy eater and if anything doesn't eat enough :dunno: I'm at a loss

Hmmm... I'd probably be getting pretty clued up on what he's eating.

I had a similar issue with DS - he spent every Friday with my dad. He's never been one to get sick, but he would puke occasionally after he got home from there at night.

Turned out my idea of a good diet for a three year old, and dad's idea of a good diet for a three year old were two *very* different things.

I was goign to say over eating/ over tired maybe?

Does he get a special food treat that isnt agreeing with him?

I wonder if the screaming or the chuck is first? Might be worth getting granny to sit with him to see what is happening.

Does he suck his thumb or slurp on fingers? Maybe he's a bit vigorous and gags himself :dunno:

My brother used to stick his fingers down his throat and make himself gag when he was letting. Assuming it felt funny. Maybe hes doing that? I'd spy on him and see XP

my first thought was that he was being fed "something" that doesn't agree with him .. a special treat ... but thats my untrusting mind.

Different brands of food/milk to what he is used to? When your mum says he is crying is it gentle cries or upset needing comfort? He could be putting his fingers in his mouth for comfort and gagging?? Can you go and observe from afar one night too see if you can get answers?
