Day/night feedings out the window
Advice please please please.
One of my almost five month old twins feeding has gone to the dogs. During the day, she will hardly eat anything, last feed of the night she will feed for well over an hour and during the night, feed for about two hours. This is something that has only started in about the last three weeks and I have no idea how to get her feeding properly during the day again.
During this night, she fed from 1.25 to 2.30 and woke again at 3.45. I gave in to her grizzling at 4am - it's now 5am and I just tried to take her off, thinking she was just comfort sucking and she immediately latched herself back on.
I'm sure it isn't a supply issue, I've never had problems with supply (long may that last) and my other boob is very leaky as she is feeding now.
Help!!!
Day/night feedings out the window
Try feeding somewhere where there are less distractions - currently working for my 7 1/2 mth old when he needs a sleep during the day or when I'm trying to get him down for the night (big brother is distracting for him)
Go with it even though it makes you tired as its fairly normal - about 5-6 mths there's often a growth spurt/period where the night sleeps go to crap. Eventually they grow out of it.
(Don't know if that helps)
Day/night feedings out the window
So need to get a bigger bed. The answer to my night problems would be to cosleep, which I'd love to do, but not sure about the logistics with two bubbas and just a queen sized bed.
Miss G was better feeding during the day yesterday thank God and much as I hated doing it, I didn't let her suck for hours during the night. It is now almost 8am and she's still asleep, as opposed to 6-ish the last few days. I am wondering because she fed so long during the night, she was getting overtired and as she was overtired, she wasn't sleeping well during the day, compounding the over tiredness itms. It will be interesting to see what today brings.
As for night feeds, we always lie down together in a dark room to feed with minimal interaction. Question - do you change your bubbas nappies during a night feed?

I only change DD overnight if she poo'd which is very uncommon. Otherwise I find that although her nappy is full by morning, it lasts the night. At night I keep her wrapped while I feed to keep her as sleepy as possible

The really annoying thing is that she CAN put herself to sleep, she does it for every day sleep and often before she goes down for the night so I'm not really sure what has changed during the night at the moment. Interestingly, last night she went from 9pm to 8.15 with three 20 min feeds where I took her off my boob when she stopped actively sucking, plus about 4 - 5 hours of day sleep so I can rest a bit easier knowing that it doesn't seem to make any difference to how soon she wakes by removing my boob sooner. However if she does keep persisting, I may have to bring her into our bed cos I'm getting so damn tired given her nighttime antics plus having her sister to deal with as well.
Thanks for your inputs on nappy changes. I knew I didn't have to, just seems so gross to lie in your own wee for 12 hours!!!!!
