who's used a chiro for baby?

So i have a extremely high maintenance baby. 7 weeks old

She is sleeping ok at night, only waking once maybe twice but boob puts her straight back to sleep but day time its a whole other story.

Cries alot, isnt very happy. We get the rare smile but doesn't last long. Wont be put down, fights her sleep and cat naps. My back is killing me from constant rocking, swaying and standing up. I do use a manduca but even that after hrs and all day hurts. Plus nothing gets done as I cant really bend with it on.

The only time she is happy is in the bath.

So I have booked chiro app for this afternoon with a guy who works with alot of kids and has rave reviews...

so did anyone else find this worked? Osteo's are few and far between where I live and they are at least 50+min drive so very hard to get too, so chiro was next choice

I had a baby chiro for DS2. I absolutely would do it again.

The Chiro treated him for plagiocephaly and it took about 3 visits for visible differences to be seen.

His behavior was super changed.

I used one too, ds got stuck on the way out during a fast labour so it made a huge difference also helped his reflux too somehow.

Yep, I've used a chiro for both DS2 and DS3 when they were 5 weeks (he stopped bf'ing on one side) and 3 weeks (wind/colic/very unsettled) respectively. It's not instant magic, but I did find a vast improvement with both babies from the first visit. Ultimately I found that after a series of adjustments all the issues I'd had disappeared. I think taking bub to a chiro is a great move. I still take DS3 for monthly adjustments as he's had some ongoing minor gut issues which I find is helped by visiting the chiro.

I really hope this works.. Im tired of using colic and infacol relief and don't want to try any other med's til I have exhausted all natural remedies. Im just at my wits end. Her days and nights are so different and its frustrating. I get babies cry but this is just extreme.
She does very loud stomach too which I will mention to him.

I sometimes wonder if her extremely fast rapid birth may have impacted on her alignment because she has always been a screamer. Family refer to her as the loud one :( and atm with DH brother passing away he is spending alot of time focused on his mum and sis, so it gets very draining on me and she is fully bf so I have to do feeds (which I enjoy when she is calm but she licks to fuss fart around there too some times, arching and carrying on.
She is gaining weight well so shes getting plenty its just a constant battle during the day.

I took DS2 from early on (4mths approx) to my Chiro (on Milne rd Modbury heights area) and I would say its been good - less sleep issues than DS1 who I only took from about 3yrs old. My Chiro is doing training to work with children as well as adults; also has a good rapport with both boys. We currently go 3 monthly with the boys but if something's not right we can easily get an appointment earlier; originally I think we went weekly for about 3 weeks to make sure everything stayed right.

I would have no hesitation in seeing a chiro for a baby. you could also try bowen therapy for her too. If she's a bit 'tight' from her quick birth, the bowen should help her out with that. Most accredited bowen therapists don't charge for babies either. I took DS2 to have it done regularly after his birth as he had shoulder dystocia and it was great.

How did your DD get on?

DS3 had a very quick birth too. His adjustments focussed a lot on his pelvis and cranials.

Well I think it went well. She didn't mind it and stayed pretty calm through it.

She seems to be more relaxed. Brought up her wind super easy, settling slightly easier. He said it could take about 4 visits.
Next visit is Sat.

He didn't charge me either. Just put through what bupa would pay $30 and didn't worry about the gap.

I love chiro! I started seeing when DD was about 4 weeks old. She only saw him for a maintenance visit every 4-6 weeks and when her sleep / eating was out we would make an extra booking. I found it did the world of good, she was also rarely sick with chiro treatments (in combination with BFing) unlike the last three months where BF is minimal and chiro stopped (affordability). I would go back in a second! Hopefully you see lasting and improved 'results' with DD4.

Yep, we have taken DD to one since she was 3 weeks old. She was born very quickly (I made it to the hospital with 10 mins to spare) and as a result she was very colicky and spewy (lots of amniotic fluid still coming out of her in the first few weeks) and we took her to the Chiro on the advice of my girlfriend. He is brilliant, she still goes every six weeks now (at 10 months) and it really helped when she was little. I'd certainly recommend them.

DD (20mo) has been since abt 3/4 weeks old. Goes prob abt every 2nd month now. But was gassy when she was younger, found it really helped.

DS has been going to ours since he was 10 days old. I like to think its helping- not a miracle cure but his neck is much more aligned now (vacuum delivery). We go fortnightly at the moment but were going twice a week at first. Hope it works for your DD.

Well so far this has been our worst night in a week :(

At around 8 she became so unsettled. Refusing to feed, not wanting to be put down or held. Just so fussy and crying.

I'm so tired and my back is killing me.

I will keep trying for a few more visits though and hope for something soon

I took DS2 to an occupational therapist as a newborn for torticollis (difficult vac birth). It was really gentle on him and made a big difference to his neck - gave him full range of movement whereas earlier he couldn't look one way.
